Id do it if the 1st is swapped and Edmonton retains 50%. Not bad OP
Nurse is awful and his long awful contract hasnt even started omg. Goes for an extra THREE years beyond OELs awful contract and is $2 million more per season, so yeah, no way Canucks take on that brutal crippling contract without the Oilers paying up, bubThis is a joke, right? You can't possibly really think that.
I don't hate the Nurse. With that contract he has the greatest agent in the history of hockey. Would Nurse make Chicago that much better? The contract Nurse signed is really rich right now. I personally don't see him as a #1D, although I do see him as a 1st pairing guy.
In a few years his contract won't seem so outrageous. Also, I see a lot (and I mean a LOT) of hatred towards Darnell Nurse on here. Way more than is warranted. Where are all of you on Seth Jones? He signed the contract that defined the market. He has been more like Tyson Barrie than Victor Hedman this year. Yet he is paid as a top NHL defenseman. Chicago is near dead last in the league. Nurse's fancy stats are better. Where is the hate towards Jones?
Posters on here are strangely quiet on that front.
This sort of logic doesn't compute for a chunk of HF posters. This has to be a joke of a post, right? Nurse's contract is bad, but Nurse is not.

Dont feed the pigeons and they go away.....You must be living in a fantasy world. Nothing you posted there is even remotely realistic. Why not demand McDavid while you're at it?
There are no examples of any team retaining on a contract they just signed and for eights years and at 50%. Not only are there no examples of such a trade, it doesn't even make sense in the context of trading Darnell Nurse. I can't tell if you're just trying to get a rise out of Oiler fans or you're really this unbelievably clueless.
We have the third best record in the league under our new coach, and the rest of this post is absolutely bananas.Nurse is on a pretty bad team so it’s difficult to value him but he’s probably worth a bit more than Barrie so about the $5.6M that he’s currently making.
Unfortunately that means that his value is that of a $5.6M player with $3,650,000*8 or $29.2M of future over payment.
That’s pretty bad. He’s probably untradeable unless Edmonton retains A LOT.
Wouldn't trade Nurse for anything Vancouver would trade for Nurse.
Certainly not for OEL and a first.
I counter with Smith + 1st for Demko. About the same value proposition.
Then no trade. Oiler fans need to stop trying to dump off Nurse on us. Benning is gone, that shit wont work anymore. Hes your problem except for an overpayYou must be living in a fantasy world. Nothing you posted there is even remotely realistic. Why not demand McDavid while you're at it?

It's literally the only trade proposal of Nurse to VAN on the boards, and by all appearances wasn't even started by an Oiler fan. Open your eyes maybe? Then no trade. OEL is a #3-4 with a cap hit of $7.26m for 5 more years.
Nurse is a #2-3 with a cap hit of $9.25m for 8 more years.
Honestly both contracts are boat anchors...give me the one that ends 3 years earlier.
Canucks should've just kept Tanev and Toffoli.
