He's playing physical and blocking shots, those are traits teams pay money for. If he can keep this up they have a chance here

Just proves that literally nothing matters if you win. Lose, and every detail is criticized with a scalpel. Win, and whatever was done before that means that you can still win, so it doesn't matter what you did, because you still won. And you can't argue with winning, because what is the point of what you do? To win. If you win, you can't say what you did was incorrect, because if it was incorrect, you wouldn't have won. But you did win, so ultimately, what was done doesn't matter if you won.
You can win in spite of having a terrible giveaway that leads into a goal against. Doesn't mean that terrible giveaways that lead to goals against increase your team's chances of winning.

That's just saying you lack the ability to analyze what factors contributed to winning (or losing). The same thing with coaches saying don't change a winning line up... an admission that they have no idea what's going on and what actually impacts the game.

There's a reason winning cures all is a saying. If you win, nobody cares about a bad contract, or an aging player, or a missed top 10 pick, or a bad trade, or stupid coaching moves, or whatever else, because it didn't keep you from winning. If you don't win, all of those things matter, because the whole point is to win, and the particular problem played a part in you not winning.

If the Oilers win the Cup, nobody will care about how horrible the Nurse contract is still going to be until 2030. Oilers fans won't care anymore, and other fans won't be able to point and laugh to bug Oiler fans. At least for a couple years, before the Cup shine wears off. Success is fleeting. But even then, it won't be as fun as when it was a boat anchor that kept McDavid from glory.

Is there any coach that doesn't say don't change a winning lineup? Maybe some of them might change a 4th line winger after a win, but none of them do wholesale changes after winning 9 in a row.

I'm not being negative or clinging to anything negative about the Oilers. I'm just saying that if your criteria for a "good game" for Nurse is "throwing a bunch of hits while getting a puck hit off his ass for a goal against", that just means Nurse is horrendous at this point.

Nurse makes $9.25 million a year and people have to cling to hits to say he had a good game at this point. Doesn't that kinda just scream how bad he is at this point? Idk, to me it does. That just sounds like late era Jack Johnson defenders saying he was successful when he was absolutely awful.

Throwback to 2 weeks ago where Oilers fans were arguing against this.

He may actually be the worst contract of my lifetime. At least all other horrific contracts are LTIR eligible. I may be missing someone, but this has to be the worst contract since Bryz and certainly worse than his.
