The only reason I would guess if Edmonton would consider a buyout is if they think of it as a 2 year window and then lets feel the pain.

Oilers defence has cost them some big goals this series. You can win games 2-1 & 3-2 you know.Sometimes the pts will not come so you have to play sound hockey as a group.More then once Oilers D men could have been 1st to pucks and let Florida get there instead & pucks got centred and landed in net.Nurse is terrible but he's not to blame for Edmonton scoring 1.33 goals per game. Drai has zero points.

Paul was not exactly considered a defensive defenseman.Looks like Paul Coffey's ability to coach him was overrated....

I mean.. they pretty much have a 2 year window because that's the length of McDavid's contractThe only reason I would guess if Edmonton would consider a buyout is if they think of it as a 2 year window and then lets feel the pain.
There is one solution they really need to consider. That is trading Draisaitl this summer. It's one way to get depth and a possible goalie added. They aren't worse off with one top 5 player and alot of depth vs two top five players and no depth imo.I mean.. they pretty much have a 2 year window because that's the length of McDavid's contract
I don't even think trading Drai would do much. It only frees up $8.5m in cap space and the haul he'd get in return 1 year away from UFA won't be anywhere near what Oilers fans would expect. There is one solution they really need to consider. If McDavid wants to win a cup, he needs to realize status quo isn't good enough. He may not have his buddies around. But the team could massively improve & increase the odds at a cup.
Next season, McDrai as a duo are only like the 3rd highest capped hit combo at $21 mill, behind Toronto and Colorado's top duo. Most of the other top duos are in the $19 - $20 mill range like with FLA, TB, NYR, DAL, etc. So, they get really the most bang for their buck.I mean.. they pretty much have a 2 year window because that's the length of McDavid's contract
This definitely aged well.Beast Nurse from the Covid Bubble is Back. Thanks HF and over reactive Sports Media, we really needed this boost.
Hockey is the ultimate team game especially on defense do you see McDavid making defensive plays like Barkov?Oilers defence has cost them some big goals this series. You can win games 2-1 & 3-2 you know.Sometimes the pts will not come so you have to play sound hockey as a group.More then once Oilers D men could have been 1st to pucks and let Florida get there instead & pucks got centred and landed in net.
