Perhaps you should have responded to THAT poster then, instead of painting it like it’s some kind of common sentiment.

Also where did anyone say he was a “first rate top six player”?

But I’m the smartass…
I said “like a top 6”, because of locking up in prime for 4yrs and don’t tell me what I should do because you are the one that jump on someone before actually verifying. That’s on you.

Just suggesting it, as it would help clarify where you’re coming from. Less apt to jump on the opinion if it’s actually a direct response to someone.

I agree… no thanks on a four year deal. Whatever the AAV.

As in just like Craig Smith when he gets on a hot streak you have people in here wanting to give him a 4yr deal? Like some first rate Top 6 player. Come on, hasn’t anymore learned a thing. Look at his career up until this point. While he is playing well this season and possibly has figured out he needs consistency after almost being out of the league, it’s still not over and you need to see what he looks like in the playoffs before signing any deals. He is known to check out during the tough season. Not sure you want to tie up bigger money if he disappears there.

Be cautiously happy for him, but you have to see the whole picture of his career and whether if he gets a multi year deal does his consistency go back to what it was before this season when he feels more safe. So to me it’s still a wait and see with him even though he has shown better consistency this season to this point.

Craig smith was a legit 20+ goal scorer with minimal PP time for a while in Nashville.

Idk if that’s the best comparison. Especially if you are calling out consistency. Sure he fizzled out in his mid 30s but he was very consistent and had offensive production that was much closer to debrusk than heinen.

You wouldn't take him for 4X1?? I would. But of course I don't think that deal is something he would take, nor should he.

I love Heinen, and have since his Denver days. I think his value is as a flexible player who can bounce up and down the lineup and there is a real value in that. I do hope the Bruins resign him. But there is a limit to where I would go.

Don’t worry about it, if you actually saw how all my friends acted around each other you’d think we hate each other…but those same guys would be first to jump into any scuffle. I am just used to jawing with sports talk including here. Which usually gets me into trouble sometimes

A fourth line of Hainen-Poitras-Kunin could be very good. You can also put Duhaime on that RW, and he can bring Middleton with him from Minny.

I like both Kunin and Dhaime but Lauko seems to be settling into his role here as a forchecker/energy guy and I think they should continue to give him games to see more of what they have with him.

Age and career averages per 82 games
Lauko 23: 7 goals/19 points/165 hits
Kunin 26: 14 goals/29 points/150 hits
Duhaime 26: 9 goals/15 poimts/200 hits

Kunin is a great call

Lauko could be Nevin Markwart

He’s that fast and fearless

No not career stats, it’s mostly he had a few good weeks on the top line and all of a sudden he was now considered a top 6 guy (Smith). His consistency dropped off and by the time he was done in Nashville he was a third liner. He was declining but still would have spurts. Team should be skeptical and always evaluate on what is his most likely scenario. So cautiously you look at Henien and say he is playing really well, his career stats sees he is isn’t bad but inconsistent. What do I bank on happening. Does he remain this way or does he go back to be so inconsistent to the point he almost lost a job in the NHL.

Nick Foligno better example.

Nevin is a mighty high bar to set, was so happy to see him last night, still looks great.

Lauko becomes half of the Kamikaze Kid it would be huge for the Bruins. I still get Kunin if I can, just seems to be a lot of untapped potential with him.

I never thought I would say this, but I would try to extend Heinen now. I’d like some tougher players, but Daton on the third line for the next 3 years would be great.

Most championship teams had amazing 3rd lines, look at what happened to those teams when those 3rd liners finally got a raise(Tampa, Chicago)... they left and those teams were suddenly less dominant. If we can manage to sign him on a value contract it would solidify one of the most Important and underrated lines in hockey.

I don’t know if Lauko can pull it off - he’s got jets and will fight and he makes good contact but Markwart was Uber intelligent and knew when and where to cause a disturbance

You are 100% on Kunin - me and Lou once a week are texting about we would go get Kunin. Glad another psycho like us see the same thing

To bad Anderson contract sucks - he’s been on a heater about same time Frederic & DeBrusk went on there’s

I’d take him for 3.5 M a year max but he’s way to much now

I wonder if he would bite if we doubled his salary and gave him term on something like a 1.5x3

Maybe even a 2x2?

I don't think it would cost an arm and a leg. I think either is fair for both sides.

It seems like he would be cheap and willing to sign here. Definitely a way better player than he was the first time. He seems like a really good fit.
I admit I wanted him scratched game 7 and Backes in there for 10 minutes

He competes doesn’t shy away from board battles and uses experience and good stick to win 50:50’s

However I like him with a couple of bigger/heavier linemates like Frederic and JVR or Geekie

Freddy seems to get the center position

Curious how Freddie would do at LW with 18 & 88
