I singlehandedly give you a 2 goal turnaround simply by my very presence and the best description you have is "er, triumphant"?

Do I need to go back to hanging out on r/canes during games instead?

of all the ungrateful....
I mean, I got home from the movies at the start of the 3rd, so I really feel like I was responsible for the turnaround. I'll give you maybe 12% of the credit.

In all honesty, I heart everyone here, as well. It's simply the best place to share it all. Not to harsh everyone's buzz, but the Whaler/Canes were the one thing that kept my dad and I connected through a lot of rough, strange years in our lives. Now that he's gone and I'm not in N.C., I kinda need this board a lot more than the board needs me.

Don't worry about the mood. We're here, all over the world and share the community. Sure, I lost my father. And you have your rough things there. Like the team is growing into something bigger. So is this family, yes, no matter what the situation.

So keep up your spirits. There's really not people who'd ever put you down and even this thread is like a bob marley of threads!

There's always bad things, but shouldn't worry about it here. I've learned. It's pretty positive. I like it. And doesn't bother me that the team is really showing what fighting in a good way is.

Don't worry, be happy. To others as well. Negativity such. Should avoid, if possible.

I am so glad to read this that the community here is a strong one. Like I said in my introduction thread or whatever it was that I answered a bunch of questions about myself, I am brand new to the game and also the team even though I am a home grown North Carolina gal. When I say brand new I mean brand new as in started watching the game for the first time in the last series of the Canes and the Caps. So I pretty much know nothing about the game except it is fast and physical and exciting and the team that scores the most wins. I am here to learn from all of you and I will try not to look too dumb while posting.

We welcome you with open arms to the wonderful game of hockey and joining the Caniac fam! Feel free to ask any questions about the game or Hurricanes history. A lot of us would be happy to share our knowledge of the game and Hurricanes with ya here!

By the way, I wrote the OP in this thread (almost 2 months ago) because I had been diagnosed with prostate cancer - which I had mentioned in passing before then. But the day I wrote this I was told the diagnosis was worse than originally thought and it wasn't responding to radiation treatment.

I was in a significant amount of pain at that point so they scheduled a surgery, which appears to have been successful, although they will have to monitor everything closely for a year or more, they say it's likely gone for good.

So if you're keeping score: Roboturner913 1, Goddamned Butt Disease 0

I’ll drink to that bud. And also remember to get my butt checked at regular intervals.

Glad to hear you’re doing well.

Dang that freaking sucks, sure that’s been awful to deal with.

But hell yeah! That’s exciting to hear the docs think it’s likely gone for good! I’ll drink some Everclear to that!

A lot of people have had it a lot worse.

Plus, because I've been out of work and doing a lot of bed rest, I've been able to watch every single game. And my kids have been awesome taking care of things. I'm extremely fortunate.

Without being overly dramatic, it makes me want to not take the good things in life for granted anymore. It also makes me feel stupid for always complaining about having to do mundane **** like take out the trash or mow the grass.
