GDT: Dallas Stars 5, Los Angeles Kings 4 (Final)

First road period does it again.

Team needs to realize other teams get up for them.

Need Kopitar and Gaborik on the scoresheet. Kopitar had some great possession tonight but that needs to start turning into points.

Offense was fine though. Just can't be that bad defensively.

Just a 'meh' game that nearly turned into something hilarious.

Figure out the road games. Onto the next one.

Seriously , the only time I can remember hearing them in the same sentence was when the were benched in the 3rd during the pp. They need to step up.

No need to exaggerate.

You're more than welcome to discuss players as we are equal-opportunity haterade drinkers around here.

The problem is the context-less passive-aggressive shots you're taking at this mythical club of King-supporter-Clifford-haters. It has to stop. Please relax.

I m not exaggerating today on the main board i was told by a king fan that he and nolan provide the jump and physical play that directly helped us win the cup. I have also been told that Clifford is soposed to score regular. I realize your a mod and will edit my attempts to show that king isn't a key player. But to tell me i'm exaggerating is a out right lie by you. I have been quiet about this because everyone has there right to there opinions and no i will not "relax on mind " If you want to discuss this further with me i would love to in emails. I have every right to post my opinions as i see as other do. I will say if im to relax i want you to shut down herby and ultah rants on richards also rons rants on the mayor etc My posts are less often then theres.

I have watched King get talked about as if he was the reason we made them cup while several posters complain about clifford. I sat back and watch them continuely ***** about him, I find it funny with people *****ing about richards and brown and others You find my complaining about King as one your tired off. If you go back and look at when i complain about him its normally that others are complaining on Clifford especially trying to blame lack of points for a player playing the least mins on the team. Every one of the regular posters have there own favs and ones that aren't to ***** at me is funny. I also if you read my trade thread posts defend King as much as i ***** about him. I also try to always make a deal that improves the kings.

Come on man, no you haven't. And you're saying you complain about King to balance out the complaining about Clifford? Doesn't that seem a little crazy? As for the Richards complaining, I'd be happy if people gave that a rest too, but at least in his case they're talking about s guy who is supposed to be in the top 6 and gets paid nearly six million, not a couple bottom sixers making a million each.

Why? That's 254 total goals! Better than 206 last year.

The total is nice, I just mean at the on-pace for some of those names.

No i have maintain its because i think he is the most replaceable person on the team. If you trade him for pics you have over a million in cap space ( if you promote someone less the a million to replace his spot)

Having brown on the 3rd line makes us a better team
gaborik kopitar carter
pearson richards toffoli
brown stoll williams
clifford lewis nolan / andreoff

this is a better team and why i see king as expenable

As far as the sample size its the same one i saw on the board the other week where it was the great dwight king outscoring our whole bottom 6 now that they are out playing him it not allowed that is a joke. We needed cap space and trading King is the person that needs to go.

That makes sense but personally that team doesn't look any better to me. You're suggesting it's addition by subtraction and we can agree to disagree which is fine but my point was it's not necessary to drag King thru the mud in every thread particularly when contextually it doesn't make any sense. He didn't play any worse than any other player tonight. He's the least of our problems right now and a million or so in cap space to move a versatile roster player is the least of our solutions.

Er, no. I'm a moderator, not a censor. If I start cutting this garbage it's because it doesn't belong in this thread but does in it's own. Start a Dwight King discussion thread if you want, just like there's a Richards thread and a neat little place for everything else. But you're tiptoeing infraction territory. Cut it out.

Now that we are a quarter way through the season I'll post the on pace stats for each player.

Tyler Toffoli-32 goals 72 points
Jeff Carter-28 goals 68 points
Drew Doughty-4 goals 48 points
Tanner Pearson-36 goals 48 points
Anze Kopitar-20 goals 40 points
Jake Muzzin-4 goals 40 points
Justin Williams-16 goals 36 points
Mike Richards-12 goals 36 points
Alec Martinez-8 goals 28 points
Marian Gaborik-12 goals 24 points
Jarret Stoll-8 goals 24 points
Dwight King-4 goals 24 points
Dustin Brown-12 goals 20 points
Trevor Lewis-12 goals 20 points
Kyle Clifford-4 goals 20 points
Brayden McNabb-0 goals 20 points
Robyn Regher-4 goals 12 points
Matt Greene-4 goals 8 points
Kings are winning (enough) with this.
If it gets better then they might even get home ice in the first round.
Of course that may be the whiskey talking.

Sutter Post game from the LA kings insider

On whether the three unsuccessful first period power plays were “game-changersâ€:

Our power play’s not going to win or lose us games. The power gave us a chance in the third. I thought our penalty killing was not as good as our power play.

SOmetimes I wonder if he's watching the same game.

I have the same right as they do to make my own complaints. No one besides me said anything as i consistantly seen people rip Clifford Now that hes playing well and king is playing bad i can't do the same without hate that is two faced All last season i saw people hate on clifford in the pgt I didnt see one person get the hate i do on king double standard in its fullest. Again i use that as no one tells them to relax Yet no one seems to notice i defend king as much as i try to trade him Again nothing said about me defending him as a player. its only i hate him I wish you people would stop the double standard when it comes to me dislikeing king and people like utah and richards hating on players. its not fair

If this richards stuff stayed to the richards thread i would agree However it doesn't and none of it gets edited. It spreads to every thread and if that is allowed to happen i cant see why my post would get edited. I see people allowed to rant on bad play in a game thread why is this different

really, I guess he was looking down at his notes each time the Stars had scoring chances on the PK. At one point I think the Stars had 4 solid scoring chances killing the penalties in the first, while the Kings had 1 SOG from the point. Next thing you know, it 3-0.

Because you're picking fights out of the blue, you're not discussing the player.

That's the end of it.

Give up three goals in one period and your'e gonna lose that game 95% of the time. Especially when it's the Kings. Too little, too late.

yall's size and skill just wore us out by the end---why yall kill people in a series

always impressed, how I wish my team would be

still hate brown

good luck to the kings

The Royal Half ‏@theroyalhalf

That wasn’t an earthquake you just felt in Dallas. It was all those jerseys in Edmonton being thrown to the ice.

I thought it was from Doughty slamming his stick everytime he missed the net on wide open shots.

I have been told by you johnny ron herby and a few other that King is a better player then Clifford Now that i can show it with stats that hes not. I had to take it all last season I didn't post in here most of last season because i was talk down with a lot of arrogence and now that hes playing better then him your telling me to relax and go with the flow. I happen to also defend king as much as i rip him. Yet none of you notice that or seem to care. Imo yes he did play worse and sutter must have thought the same or he would have had his normal 15ish mins of play. There is a reason his ice time was cut certainly even you can see that.

I'm not saying you don't have the right, I'm just saying chill out. Regardless of what any of us think, Sutter loves King, and don't you think we should trust Sutter all things considered? Besides, we're all kings fans after all.

Are you talking about our trade discussion in the pens thread? If so I think you are overstating what I said.

http://hfboards.mandatory.com/showthread.php?t=1778721&page=2

Seemed like a good game to miss, spotting any team a 4 goal lead just aint gonna work. What was up, was Quick having a bad day or was the team D / effort lacking?

Holy crap, I came over here from another site because of the dumb bickering and personal attacks that take place there. I hope this is stopped before it becomes a habit around here.

You should probably go back. Our goal is to make Felix and Oscar from the odd couple look like Thelma and Louise.

So does that mean we will be trading CLIFFord to make room for them? I'm going to premptively  my own joke, but note that I only got 2 hours of sleep last night.

I've gotten the memo: Clifford isn't getting traded. Every year we bring it up and he's still here. Not to mention he played arguably the best hockey of his NHL career against the Rangers last Spring.

I thought Sutter did a good job with the line combos in the 3rd. If he stuck with something like those for a while the lines may start to gel a little....

Lets see if he runs them in the next practice...

Ok I'm back to reality now... how much longer is this road trip?
