Post-Game Talk: Dallas Does Skinner

Hopefully that game reminded them to take NOTHING for granted, every period, every shift, every action/reaction.

Skinner can not be depended on, you have to compensate for him, the PK needs significant improvement and refs need glasses, so don’t take needless penalties..
Unfortunately I think a lot of the overplay is compensating for Skinner. Team know they need 5 or more goals most times he's in net to win. Defensively you see defenders agressive trying to prevent block or take away any shot because of the dope in net. Its an untenable task to have Skinner in net. It takes superhuman efforts to even get through a series, any series, with him in goal. 2 of the PP goals that Dallas got last night had little to do with any breakdown of the pk. It had to do with Skinner. Its hard to be shorthanded AND not have a valid goalie. On the winning goal Skinner completely vacates the net making it almost impossible for Duchene not to score. He was almost on strike 3 by the time it went in. Skinner still not there.

Nurse gave Skinner another glare after that one. Stared right at him. Stecher as well. You got one job, stay in the net, stop wandering like a dope.

The downside of having identity players like Kane and Perry is occasionally its going to hurt you. There were several posters last night saying Kaner is going to take a stupid penalty in the third. Like people sensed it from what was going on out there. Kane got nailed a few times and on his keister. Didn't like it. Doesn't happen to him a lot.

I'll pile on
