Okay just to make you happy. I will listen.
Point 1: "This doesn't happen, no one ever says no to Carolina". Complete bullshit argument, of course players who have played there 2,3,4 years want to reup in the place they are familiar with and settled in. Look what happens in Winnipeg. GM is making the argument as if Rantanen was a 3 year player that is now saying no. How many UFA players have not been interested in Carolina? I am sure plenty. Placing blame on Rantanen as "the first player to ever say no to here" is complete bullshit riling up fanbase to get angry.
Point 2: They had permission to speak to the player/agent before the trade and were told "We are interested in Colorado".. GM should take that as a no.. but he continues anyways. Horrible due diligence by the GM. "Our READ based on conversations with a multitude of people indicated he could be interested in Carolina" Why doesn't he say the player? Why did they reach out to a multitude of people? Why is he trying to do psychology rather than getting a yes from the player? Marek asks for clarification.. Tulsky says "Octagon said we were interested in Colorado" LOOOOOOOOOOL
Point 3: Coach Rob is a liar, the 4 teams thing was given after the pitch, after he was there and settled, and after he decided no he didn't want to go there. Coach is a liar and full of shit and the GM calls him on it.
There is nothing here.
They didn't know he would sign, they told him Colorado only before they traded for him, he came in, they pitched it, he didn't like it, he told them no -- I will sign and trade to these 4 teams.. and hes gone.
Sounds very straight forward to me.
