Dadonov is the better player at the moment, he played better lately after a terrible start of the season. Gurianov is a RFA but with his season he won't get more then his QO. We will see how he finish the season to see if he will be qualified or not. I guess the risk is his QO won't be enough for him and he goes to the KHL. Good trade for both team.

Depends what he shows the rest of the year. He's 25 and could be given a QA and sent to Laval. Maybe he gets picked up off waivers... if so, so what. Or he could show enough to earn another year in the bottom six. Either way, he has more to offer than Dadonov.

However, it further shows to the habs new plan to go with size when they can. Obviously they're not going to deal Hutson, or Farrell because they're 'smol', but they seem to be looking at size. Agreed, this organization is filled with those kind of prospect, could be a good reclamation project.....wouldn't be the first time Gorton hit on those and have success.

Wow this is totally unexpected I was expecting future consideration I always loved Gurianov production never seem to match expectations but he is young, big and fast, is lack of production only help us signing him to a cheaper deal, even if he is a 40pts middle 6 he could still be good useful piece and it is a lot better than Dadonov or anyone we have in the AHL.
