Career? Likely done. You can't do what he did and sail away in the current climate. Which is good.
Want to make it clear that I'm not advocating for this but if Montreal said "a good kid who made a big mistake and we’re going to help him along and we’ll see how it all turns out."

And being that he was 17-18 years, isn't this something he can grow, become a spokesperson against? Do most people consider this irredeemable?

Again, not advocating, just seeing what people think about this a few year's removed.

Hey, I don't really give a f*** either way, just seems unlikely he'll get to have a career making millions after what he did.

I feel like I haven't heard much of anything about this dude. What's the consensus for an NHL career?

He's got great offensive talent, but his defensive game/decision-making needs work. He's got an elite shot for a defenseman. He has the kind of shot that can score 20+ goals. His NHL comparable is probably Brent Burns. His ceiling is top pairing dman and his floor is bottom pairing pp specialist.

It's important to note that prior to last season, he hadn't played much in his previous 2 seasons, so he missed a lot of development time. He likely needs at least 1 full ahl season before making the nhl.

I think pairing him with a great defensive player like Guhle in the nhl would be great for him.

The habs future top 4 in my opinion are:
Hutson - Reinbacher
Guhle - Mailloux

People on here make it out to be that this kid is some kind of serial murderer rapist. Kid took picture of girl who was 18, while he was 17, and did a dumb thing that any 17 year old could do.

These same fools on here judging him I bet you did stupid shit too as a kid but never had the spotlight put on them because they are at home behind a keyboard.

At any rate. Very good offense, just needs to now work on his D and he will be a good one.
People acting like he's one of the few NHL prospects who have this public legal issue in last 10+ years. Not sure where you're getting serial murderer rapist.

Can somebody who still thinks this kid is unredeemed please explain exactly what punishment he should suffer? Or is it simply that his begging contrition is not acceptable to your standards?

I'm wondering if fORRever would be a better handle for you? :)
As for Mailloux I am all for second and third chances. Not forth though ... three strikes you're out!
Montreal's future D is looking promising!
If they all develop? And if Montreal can draft a few capable forwards, they may be a really decent team in a few years.

so his apology for getting caught indemnifies him from any further criticism?

he should wear the scarlet letter, whether or not he is allowed to play in a club would fall under the club's ethical, social, and fiduciary responsibilities to it's stakeholders.
