I will be pissed if we move Hamilton over Gio.

10 years younger
Has a lot of potential
Our best dman this year
Literally just got him a year ago
We don't need to get older, we need younger
Is cheaper

IS OUR ONLY GOOD RIGHT HANDED D!!!!!

That said, the report is that somebody called the Flames and it went nowhere, not that the Flames initiated, or were keen to move, or anything like that.

Just curious as he used to be paired with Chara on the top D pairing in Boston, why does he currently play less than Engelland and Wideman and on the bottom pairing D?

I do still love the misconception of Dougie Hamilton.
Skates very well. Is very good offensively. Is top 50 in hits around the league. Has been nothing but solid for Calgary minus two gaffs (the backhander right into the slot, and the defensive breakdown that lead to a breakaway; but that's on both Dmen). Added some ugly to his game. Has been using his body and stick very well.

Still sucks. HF gonna HF.

How about behind the net last night, dropped two Hawk players in about 2 seconds.

Should have went after Radulov when u guys had the chance. Now u'll be paying a premium for a RW knowing ur RW depth... And no it doesnt get u anywhere close to Stone nor Tofolli. Stay realistic plz

He's clearly behind Gio and Brodie, and our coach seems to be set on splitting them up and putting one offensive/one defensive guy on each pairing. Wideman being paired with Gio might look the most suspect, but they seem to play well with each so we'll see how long that lasts. If and when Brodano is reunited, Dougie will be playing 2nd pairing again.

Huh?
He gets more minutes than Engellland.

He'll have more minutes than the Widedog in short order. Calgary needs to showcase him to get him off the team by the deadline

He doesn't play much on the PK and Engellend has been averaging 4:25 short handed minutes a game haha.

Wideman is just a small sample size. He had one good game paired with Gio and played 25 minutes. He's also at a ppg right now as well.

Not sure why he only got 15 minutes against Chicago. Maybe he tweaked something, can't remember. Was pretty drunk that game.

Edit; I think he got like 3 penalties that game so maybe the coach was pissed.

I think people are assuming that i mean Toffoli + Pearson, but really it should be Toffoli or Pearson, but i think there would be a significant add to either of those guys. Same with Arizona

Nope. And the Kings aren't trading Toffoli/Pearson.

He plays more than Engelland and Wideman has more TOI/GP but has sat 3 games. Hamilton has had his struggles early this year, he's had a couple subpar games and has gotten into penalty trouble in others. Engelland on the other hand, has been surprisingly good early and is probably playing the best hockey of his career right now. Wideman gets bigger minutes than he should because he plays better with Giordano than Hamilton does and Jokipakka, who has been paired with Hamilton isn't ready for larger minutes.

i dont see the leafs trading gardiner for hamilton. i definitely dont see them adding to gardiner to get hamilton.

Leafs need more defense, not less. I understand Calgary has same problem so a defenseman coming back is what they would be looking for Toronto-Calgary are bad trade partners.
Imo I was looking at the right handed aspect

And I'd argue this isn't bringing less defense.

You know that in a salary cap system a team cannot go over the salary cap, right?

you want a top line RW, right? yet you guys went after Brouwer a second liner. Dont tell me they didnt have cap space. They prioritized grit over skills and its costing them this season.

We get it, you got Radulov. If all you're trying to do in this thread, like every other you post in, is rub that and other things in people's faces, why are you posting here?

Did Radulov want to sign here?

Not nearly as cut and dried as you propose it to be.

The only way I would trade Hamilton is if Marner was coming back. Maybe it's not fair value, but I am not trading Hamilton for something less.
