How is this even a thread haha.

Hamiltons been solid. He's been physical. He's got great advanced stats. Was leading the team in shots until last night when Johnny finally overtook him. Bennett stole a goal from him last night.

Couple bad penalties and Grossman left him out to dry the first game.

Sorry but where there's smoke there's fire, anywho i don't really care about what happens to him regardless. My personal opinion is that he's gonna get moved (mostly based on his play and his caphit). Could be this year, could be in the off-season.. we'll see what happens.

Your saltiness never ceases to amaze me, you're so delusional. You always have a hidden agenda, keep at it and hold on to those internet grudges!! You expect me to start arguing with you like other Habs fans would because of the statement you just made? Sorry but i couldn't care less about you, move on with your life.

Take a look at ANY post he's ever made about the Leafs. Each and every one is nothing more than trying to incite an arguement. Do yourself a favor, any time you see his username...just move right on by, unless you want a laugh.

That's exactly what was said about Subban, no point in talking about all this if Calgary "wasn't shopping him". It's just a politically correct way of saying they'd rather move him, they're listening to calls so they can trade him.

See!!!!!! HF never fail

Comical.

To be fair (and not that i am saying Hamilton is available), usually when a respected media guy reports something...it carries a little weight. The Subban trade, the Trouba issues (even though Jets fans said there weren't any), the Lindholm contract issues....I mean why would a GM(s) even make the call if there wasn't a hint of an idea that Dougie might be available?

That's his job to do so

Hoo billy. There's no way the Flames should trade Hamilton unless they're getting comparable D back, which doesn't really make sense to me (he's already signed long-term, young, and quite good). They're already in the unenviable situation of playing Derek Engelland/Dennis Wideman for way too many minutes.

I could name countless ramblings and semi-reports done by the big media guys that led to absolutely nothing.

As for the GM, it's called doing his job. Your team needs a top 4, young right handed dman, what're you going to do? You're going to call the teams that have those assets and see if their available. Especially a struggling team like Calgary, prime target to try pick at. You seriously don't think these calls happen hundreds of times a season?

Jvr straight up
Iin a vacuum this wouldn't be far off and maybe even bang on. However for it to even be feasible in reality the Flames would need two things, protection if JVR does not re-sign [conditional pick(s)] and to acquire another top 4 defenseman prior to moving Hamilton (or a 3rd team being involved w/ a top 4 defenseman coming to Calgary as well)

I don't see any team offering more than the equivalent of what Calgary paid to get him, and I don't see Calgary trading him at that price. Nothing to see her. Aside from maybe shortsighted and/or trigger happy sportscasters trying to sell a "moves might be coming" type thing to Flames fans after their slow start. The last couple games have been much better for the Flames, so they won't be selling. Its way to early for that, and even if they were, Dougie Hamilton is not the kind of guy a team sells off.

except that the trigger happy sportscaster said the Flames didn't let it get anywhere, so it's more like trigger happy HF posters.

Pierre LeBrun on TSN 1040: “You heard Dougie Hamilton’s name out there this year. I don’t think it was the #Flames shopping him.†… “But I know that at least one team, for sure, phoned about his availability and it didn’t go anywhere.â€

Like him in CGY, dont love him, yet. Optimistic i will soon. However, if a team was to blow Trelivings socks off, I could get behind it.

CGY's needs are a top line RW with some skill and size. Under 27 years old, 30 goals, 60 point, 100 hit kinda guy.

Who would it take to get 27 off the flames roster?

Ill start this mess of a thread by tossing out a few to piss some people off:

CGY: Hamilton,

OTT: Stone,

CGY: Hamilton, +

LA: Toffoli , Pearson

CGY: Hamilton, +

ARI: Duclair, Chychrun

What would the +'s have to be (picks?) , and are they on the right side of the deal ?

Go

As a sens fan I wouldnt consider this deal for 30 seconds. Stone is Ottawa's best forward by a substantial margin and the only first line talent on the team. No thank you.

I dont think Hamilton is getting you either of those other packages either, why do you think he is worth so much?

Is Stone that good? I honestly dont know that much about him other than he fits the description.

Calgary adds Ferland.

Oh Ferland well then done deal :help: maybe you should do some research before you post this stuff. Would you do Gaudreau or Monahan for Hamilton. Ya me neither.

Why do you think that Calgary will get substantially more for hamilton then they paid for him? I am very curious.

Young top 4 defensemen have considerable value in today's NHL and while I think desperation played a large part the Hall/Larsson trade is a prime example and will only skew the value of young defenders even more.

edit: I actually never read those proposals, they are bad haha

I'd do Monahan and Hamilton for Gaudreau....

I do still love the misconception of Dougie Hamilton.
Skates very well. Is very good offensively. Is top 50 in hits around the league. Has been nothing but solid for Calgary minus two gaffs (the backhander right into the slot, and the defensive breakdown that lead to a breakaway; but that's on both Dmen). Added some ugly to his game. Has been using his body and stick very well.

Still sucks. HF gonna HF.
