I'm very curious about Carson for the Flames with the 13th pick, from the draft report he sounds like a player. He had a high pre-draft ranking and slid due to covid, injuries, etc. What's the consensus on where he goes? Early - late?

It was a difficult season for Carson Lambos. When the start of the WHL season was delayed due to Covid-19, the young defender went to Finland and played in the JYP system. He played just two games and limited ice-time for the big club but got in plenty of time with their junior squads. Lambos had two goals and nine assists for 11 points in the J20 league. He also added three assists in two games in the J18 League. Lambos returned home when the WHL season got underway this spring. However, he played just two games for the Winnipeg Ice before suffering a season-ending injury.

The second overall pick in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft, Lambos had a solid rookie season with Winnipeg in 2019-20. He scored eight goals and 24 assists for 32 points in 57 games. Lambos also played for Team Canada White at the Under-17 World Hockey Challenge. He put up five assists in six games and was named to the tournament All-Star Team. His older brother, Jonny Lambos, is also in the WHL, playing defence for the Brandon Wheat Kings.

and we still don't know what his injury was? Seems like a deliberate lack of info. If it's noting to worry about would be interesting for the Canucks at 9-11OV.
Im really high on him, Canucks should trade down to add him if possible... or just F it like Yzerman with Seider and take him at 9

What's the deal with his injury? I have him as a good fit for the Kings, even at 8. If he drops to the mid teens some bubble team will be happy.

soooooo crazy that there isnt any information on his season ending injury.

Does it have long term implication?

Why is the Lambos camp being so quiet about the procedure he had and the what the injury is?

As i said, im very very high on Lambos. I think he has the potential to be an OEL type.

This injury is scaring me though if my team was picking in the top 10. I'm sure teams will do their due diligence but it still might be a huge gamble for a top 10 pick.

If there was no injury, Lambos is in my top 3 and id consider him for first overall

Have to imagine the teams at least will be privy to this info and while it makes it tough to mock draft him I think where he gets drafted will be very telling re: the injury.

What a weird year for injury reporting, really. Even for the Kings Tyler Madden went out of the AHL mid year with no report of what the injury was, so we assumed it was a major concussion...but then he popped back just fine at the end of the year and it ended up 'just' being a broken collarbone all along. Why not say that? Hopefully Lambos is dealing with something like that rather than something more like a back or knee.

Akil Thomas played in WJC + all this season in the AHL. Just reported he is having surgery on his shoulder. Something that has bothered him since Junior. I am hoping it's just that for Lambos, corrective surgery for a nagging injury. But it must be serious enough to end his season in his draft year. I didn't see a play or hit that caused him to shut it down this year. Regardless, he is in my top 10 as of now.

Well, what a roller coaster ride this thread is. From perhaps top 5 pick to what the hell happened to him?

A lot like Rossi in that regard. Hope the Wild medical staff is up to the challenge.

Very good value, if the medical issue doesn't end up a problem.

I'm usually not someone that makes much of injuries, but I think heart issues are a very serious problem. That doesn't mean it'll be a problem. It may not, but I would be a little worried about having two first round picks in back to back years dedicated to players with heart issues.

Off to a pretty good start and going to play a big role on a top WHL contending team this year.
