And Michigan played in the second toughest conference in college hockey so the game is not all about points, context is also important.
Here's some context:

Makar's team is barely above average without him.

Wait. Assuming that Makar is the best player on his team, I'm sure he also plays when other best players are on the ice. So wouldn't that make this graph a bit redundant? A team's worse when all their best players are sitting on the bench.
At the very least it means they aren't a deep team that beats other teams up and down the lineup, right?

Pretty sure S E P H is an Avs fan. I think they're just trying to be a devil's advocate (and likely generally think highly of Hughes, too) since you're going overboard yourself

My only prediction in this thread was that adding 2 of the top 3 prospects in the world will give the Avs a regular playoff berth, given their current makeup, and what they have been lacking. If that's overboard, then we are working off different definitions of the word..

Funny that you go for the one-up, but not particularly surprising. I'll lay it out for you because you clearly need the help:

- Makar is a great prospect

- Hughes is a great prospect
Ehhhhhhh, not trying to get any one-up on you sir. Just trying to make the point in the second part of your post. I have no problems with people liking Makar over Hughes or Hughes over Makar, but both are great prospects. Disappointed that Avs fans here have lowered themselves to 13 year old Leaf fans and decided that Quinn isn't in same realm or Makar is a better defencive prospect than Jones or Hedman at the same age.

AVs fans are definitely excited, but also more reserved.

Just a few seasons ago, they thought they had a tremendous future with Forwards, Duchene, OReilly and young Mack (only remaining). They thought they were deep with DMen and only Barrie developed. Goalie was the deepest prospect pool and only Picard reached the NHL for more than a few games.

Beyond the 1st round since 2010, they don’t have a player that exceeded 13 CAREER NHL Goal.

The AVs future does seem really bright with Makar, Sens pick +++, but they’ve sucked in drafting and developing players for so long, we might be a little hesitant to think we’re immediate contenders.

...and you are one of ones who scolds us for this on HFavs...
Avs fans are the new Leafs fans - shame!

This is why we're trying to convince everyone that Kerfoot is a classic 'top-6er on a bad team who doesn't have a spot on a good team' just because of his production.
