Sanderson in front of Drysdale. It was a mistake for me at the time and it wasn't the past year that made me change my mind.

Are you someone that admits their mistakes or instead deletes old bad takes?

Or are you never wrong?

Just curious.

I archived all my previous rankings and learned from my past mistakes.

Every year, teams give me the impression of making excellent drafts with better strategies.

Carolina in 2019, Florida and Toronto in 2020. LA Kings selects very well in my opinion.

I gave Columbus the worst rating in 2019 and 2020. This year is something else.

Ottawa is very poorly managed. This is my point of view as an NHL fan.
I don't have the truth but I give my opinion. And my opinion of Ottawa is consistent with the results of the team.

This year is the most puzzling draft, can't wait to see how everyone turns out. Seems like we are drafting a bunch of connar browns and hope they all jell. I have to trust our scouts, if they want to try to do something out of the box I say ok and we may get a homerun or two. At worst I think they got a 2nd line rw this year, honestly ok with that.

If there was a year to shit on a team for their picks based on “public rankings” it shouldn’t be this year. Especially OHL players who didn’t play at all this year, Roger is exactly that.

I’ll reserve judgement until I actually see him play.

You should take that sparkling archive/resume of yours, get employed by an NHL team and become the greatest amateur scout of all time. Your talent is wasted on HFboards.

The Senators continue to make large, wide reaches on players who's best assets are things that are actively trapping for them as prospects. Ben Rodger needs to learn how to play defense, pass the puck, not be caught out of position all the time, the list goes on.

Essentially, the Senators have taken 3 top 50 picks, one inside the top 15, and turned it into:

-A mid round second pick
-A 5th rounder
-A UDFA

I want to go on record and say I do not hate the Sens. I despise terrible drafting and I would clown on any team that farted away excellent draft position like this.

This is my take on what Ottawa is doing
- Size?
- Skating?
- Decent results in small sample?

If you are 3 for 3, welcome to Ottawa. Clearly the fact that they hardly played last year means that Ottawa is swinging for the fences. What happens if they get one out of the park?

Next year you will see a lot of over agers get drafted.

Not in a match situation is a certainty and taking so high a player who has not played and who had not shown anything until then is doubtful.

Roger's value is due to an imposing size and the fact that he is a right-handed defender.

Ben Roger hasn't played a game this year. It is a fact.

Your team randomly selects players because of their profile and not their athletic performance. It is also a fact.

I kind of feel weird about this pick, even if we luck into him becoming a solid top four defensemen, how much credit does the scouting staff get for throwing darts blind at a board?

I love what the Mann brothers have done in both scouting and developing players, but this draft sure has been weird.

Just because you are ignorant about his playing this year doesn't make it a fact.
It doesn't make sense what you say. Ben Roger has not played games this year, there is no debate about it, that's a fact.

However if you want to get me out of ignorance by showing me the matches he played this year, I'm open-minded.

He played at the PBHH event where most NHL teams had scouts.

I know the event. Totally arcade practices that end with scores of 9 to 6 and which brought together players from Ontario at a questionable level.

More or less, the OHL for worse.
