WC: Czech Team 2022

I'd love to get Necas. He'd bring the combination of skill, speed and edgework that nobody can offer on this Czech team. Barzal-lite. Heck I'd probably take him over Pasta at this moment. Go Bruins.

EDIT: No contract extension yet though, might not come over.
Shit, you're right. I wouldn't come if I were him. He's due to get paid. I'm actually not sure who we are waiting or hoping for anymore?

Chytil has a contract and I'd like him.

Nosek has a contract and I'd like him.

Kampf has a contract and I'd like him.

Pasta is hurt and probably not coming.

They don't want Vanecek and have locked in the goalies. Maybe Gudas who has a contract?

Maybe Faksa who has a contract?

All have a good compete and skating level and could flesh out the lineup.

Vejmelka tomorrow (I still think we should've asked for Vanecek and added him to trio) against Sweden I presume!

Curious how we look against the powerhouse Swedes.

Also, curious how our stars look tomorrow - Hronek, Hertl, Vrana were all pretty quiet today.

Love the secondary scoring. Hard to evalute much from the game. Glad we won easily and comfortably.

Krejci and Smejkal with 2 points!

I am afraid Pasta was playing the last game not completely healthy. He was fighting hard but it was apparent he wasn't feeling comfortable on the ice. The same Marchand.
Agree it's unlikely but I can dream! I'd be fine with Nosek tbh.

Kase (no contract) and kampf are also available.

No Czechs in la vs Edmonton.lol

Kempný is quite a surprise. Usually was a healthy scratch for Capitals lately. But he's an experienced guy, so probably why not.

Musil was also sent home. I'm not sure if it's a fair trade and I really like Kempny. He will definitely be well rested and this is his second time playing for us without a contract so he is definitely committed to the NT.

I think it also speaks to our weak D core. He probably can't make it weaker and will end up in Europe as a very good D next season.

Fun thing, I'm from Brno and I'm fine with it BUT there is a clear Kometa influence here.lol All 3 goalies were from Kometa, Zabransky JR at camp, Kempny coming in, Holik's first time, Dostal started yesterday. Zabransky is the most powerful man in Czech hockey right now.lol

So there are 2 spots left for forwards and here is what is available while Kodytek and Holik wait:

Nosek
Kampf
Pasta
Maybe Faksa
Maybe Chytil
Maybe R. Zohorna (probably going back to AHL)

Obviously I want Pasta.lol I think they are waiting till tomorrow to see if Chytil or Faksa pop out.

I do think it's likely 2 of these guys are coming. I'd want Chytil for Top 6 and then I couldn't decided between Nosek, Kampf and Faksa as they are all simialr and I'm a big fan of all 3.

Meh its only 1 game. I would not worry if i where a czech. The roster is strong and more players will come. Tournament dont start until QF. Jalonen is a proven winner.

I did not see it. Fortunately. However, according to the evaluation, we played absolutely catastrophically. I would like to experience sometime in my life that we play success, that is, the medal, that we play well and not that we are just embarrassed again. Maybe I want too much.

It seems to me that only the first line work and I guess the fourth one does what is expected of them. NHL stars have to step it up, they are only visible when taking stupid penalties. Not sure what to think of Stransky, he just never seems to bring it on on the international level.

He's great but he's always in a position to finish and then doesn't (for National Team). Between Olymipcs and now I keep seeing him swing and miss on PP. He seems to be the weak link. He's big and can score but chokes for us. SImilar to Flek who gets breakaways but rarely finish (yes I know when went in of his skate for a goal) but he's 4th line so it doesn't hurt as much.lol

I would've been fine with cutting Stransky and trying Chlapik.. he is the one that worries me.

It was ugly hockey and looked more like the Juniors... we didn't have sustained pressure, no attractive plays and we allowed 5 goals so the system and defending didn't work either. We didn't look that great against GBR either.... curious if anyone else comes and what new lineup looks like. Think I read there is a problem with Kempny now.

Oh yeah.. Faksa available now.

So available with contracts are Kampf, Nosek and Faksa

Also Pastrnak with an injury.

I would take any 2 from the 4 above! Kampf, Nosek and Faksa are very similar style players who all work hard and do the 'cerna praca' (dark work).

I guess the 3 players will be announced tomorrow (could also be Kodytek and Holik)... not sure what happened to Dostal but sounds less than ideal.

Good news is Jakub Zboril signed a 2 year contract that is 1 way!!!!

Surprising, to me, news .. Adam Klapka signed with the Flames on a 2 year ELC type contract (I'm guessing 2 way and he is headed to AHL next season).

For fun.. guys I think are done in NHL/North America next season ...

Simon
Kempny
Hajek
Rittich
Safin
Jaskin
Frk
Sustr

Guys I think get NHL time next season

Galvas, Kral, Skarek, Lauko, Raska, R. Zohorna, Zboril, Blumel and Patera.

Did anybody in the Czech federation get sacked after the Olympic fiasco when the Czechs couldn't make it even to the quarter-finals?
