WC: Czech Team 2022

FInally confirmed... I couldn't decided between the 3 (Nosek/Faksa) as they are all similar. When I looked at playoff minutes.. Kampf was playing the most in his 7 game series and had a few goals as well. Strikes me as the kind of guy who wouldn't stand still with 30 seconds left in a game and a shutout on the line.lol

Thank you for this.. we need something positive around here.lol Wonder if he told Blumel 'I'm taking your spot on line 1, good luck with Hertl?'lol
It scares me about what's going on in the minds of the players, what's going on in the cabin. Hertl is one of the worst players, Vrána is again one of the worst (maybe his last tournament in the national team ..?). The vast majority of players are committed. I would like the arrival of Pastrňák to cause a change in the mood of the team. But I'm really worried that he's not omnipotent either. Pasta will not decide the result of the Czechs in the tournament, but whether we as a team will grow up or we will still play at 50% of the abilities. Or we just don't like the Finnish way of playing and the strict defense has disgusted the players with hockey.

Agree...

It's mental. This team has one of starting NHL goalies, our best dman, our 2 best C's and our best winger.

Also, no Russia. If we can't medal with this it isn't about coaching or player quality

Great smile from Pasta, very infectious!

Oh dear. I hope he comes out and apologises as well. And whatever is troubling him is also resolved.

Yes, we should be in the mix with what's on paper. I am hoping Pastrnak's infectious smile and humour will lift the team's spirit. I'd like to see him try and lift Hertl especially.

What do you think Swipes?

Put him with his mentor Krejci (who called him and asked him to come) and move Blumel? Or put him with Vrana/Hertl and create a super line?

chemistry is so hard to find in those tournament, as a Swiss I understand how frustrating it is to have a good team with super line that just don't click... However Czech have a big team and should be a big opponent in quarter for anyone.

You don't think the combo of Hertl, Vrana and Pastrnak has the potential to be good?
As great fans, we have been nurtured by the theory of great players and attacks for the second year in a row. The reality is really different. So right now, I'd save on what big statements. Those players showed absolutely nothing in the tournament.

I think we should try him with Vrana and Hertl to get them going. The Krejci line is working fine but without an engaged Vrana and Hertl we aren't going anywhere in this tournament.

If it fails with Vrana and Hertl, he can play with Krejci, where we know he will do well.

Those are my thoughts. What do you think?

I just can't....

Thank you for your support. Right now, however, I'm not sure we'll play any quarterfinals at all. It is a mental matter and it is not at all certain that everything will take a positive direction. As early as Pešán, we were supposed to play for medals and we almost didn't advance from the group.

Canada did it with a less impressive team last year, so why not ? :)

I just can't....
What does the article say?

That, according to Jalonen, they had fourteen excellent chances but did not score more than one goal. The performance was said to be good but it was not expressed in goalls.
Thats so typical Finnish coaching mentality. Jukka Jalonen being the only difference since he gets quite mad when we have shots but we won't score. Thats why Jukka was talking a lot about improve general goal scoring in Finnish prospect development etc.

Kari Jalonen is a good coach but he is a bit delusional at times.
