The Swiss have not had very strong teams in recent years, yet last year they defeated the Slovaks with complete clarity. In fact, the Slovaks were not even an equal opponent. I don't think Slovaks would be favorites this year. It will be a very interesting match (along with Germany). What’s your justification for that?
Swiss have the worst team they’ve had in years.
Of course this is all opinion and prediction anyways but would be curious to hear your reasoning for it. That’s of course if you have any
Not sure how it looks for Germany now... they are thinning out now. Sucks as our exhibition match was against them and that could've been good for us to have a even match for confidence. I read it might be changed to Canada (on a twitter feed, not official source) for an exhibition match.. I don't want that at all.lolThe Swiss have not had very strong teams in recent years, yet last year they defeated the Slovaks with complete clarity. All 3 are good... no huge differences between them. I'm not too concerned who starts in net... well, I'm concerned for them because they are entering a shooting gallery.I would go with Malik. Looks more calm and poised.
Letos jsme lepší parta, myslí si Kučeřík. Edmonton poznává z busu | Hokej.cz - web českého hokejeReally bummed we dont get to see czechs play finland today. was really looking forward to that. Would have probably been a good game.
Slovakia on wednesday is kind of a lame make up. although Sweden doesnt get a prep game so cant complain too much. Maybe Czechs can take advantage of that. I see Sweden being the one big team we could beat this year.
Have to disagree. how was our defence better last year?Mentally warming up for 3 disasters and then a tough and nervous battle with Austria. Have not a high opinion about this team. Considering them even less competitive than the last year's roster.

Is svozil an option?Who's expected to be the points leader between Has and Kubicek?
We don't have anyone like Jeník. But he was injured in the third match. We probably don't even have anyone like Lauko. And he was injured in a few seconds. The attack will probably not be worse due to the circumstances, the defense should be better.I would say the defence is comparable to the last year, maybe a little bit better, but the forwards are definitely weaker this year. I don't see a single promising forward here. Remarkably, the guys playing for Litomerice in the Czech2 have been barely competitive even in this league, which is, to be fair, not any special level of hockey. Namely Teply, Pytlik, but also Mysak have been a big disappointment this autumn. Of course they could get into better shape during the pre-tournament camp, who knows. But I don't have any high hopes for them.
Next year it's going to be even worse likely.I would say the defence is comparable to the last year, maybe a little bit better, but the forwards are definitely weaker this year. The forward core this year is utterly mediocre, though I wouldn't worry about the game against Austria. They should beat them rather easily.
Personally, I am hoping for strong perfomace by Gut, Krutil and the two underage defenseman. Svozil especially needs a strong showing if he wants to maintain the 1st round consideration, he looked poor in my Extraliga viewings this year.
It just doesn't seem like any of them are having really great seasons so far... Well maybe Dobes.lolThe young Svozil and Jiricek might be the best D-men of this team. Especially Jiricek has been looking very good for Plzen this year. Out of the forwards, Gut has been looking OK, the same with Beranek, maybe Prikryl. But neither of them seems to me as a player who could make any substantial difference. They are just OK junior players, definitely no prodigies or so. They should beath Austria thanks to the depth of the lines, but at the same time they have no really stunning prospect like Austria has with Marco Rossi.

I have low expectations as well. But for everyone to say this team is worse than last year is simply ridiculous. That team was high on the home crowd and lucky as hell. The defense was a joke at least on paper. It just doesn't seem like any of them are having really great seasons so far... Well maybe Dobes.lol
I really do like the team but man are my expectations low. I was disappointed the 2 exhibition games got changed as they were both on tv and I could see them play. Looking forward to slovakia game at least but I don't see how that game gets us ready for the pool of death.
I love the optimism. I didn't expect Jenik to be as awesome as he was when he was drafted, very true. But.. at the time he got hurt he was leading the OHL (or top 3) in scoring. It's not like he came out of nowhere in the Czech Republic. There was a rocket ship strapped to him before he ever flew home for the Juniors. Him and an American player with a Russian name (sorry, can't remember) were tearing the league up. I REALLY hope that injury doesn't derail his career because he was looking like he would be a Coyote a lot sooner than I thought.Maybe, but you have to consider the circumstances that Mysak was in.
Playing a bottom 6 role for a crappy Litvinov team. Wasn’t playing big minutes or any big roles whatsoever.
I personally wouldn’t be too concerned.
Plus, how could we possibly say that there’s no talent like Jenik on this team??
You can’t tell me that anyone on here anticipated Jenik to make such a big impact. He’s a 3rd round draft pick for goodness sake. He was simply a pleasant surprise (at least to some degree). But no one expected him to be THAT good.
Any of Mysak, Teply, Pytlik, or Novak could surprise in that same way.
What’s different between them and Jenik?
(I’m not even counting Lauko. That wouldnt make sense cause he didn’t even play).
And if I’m being honest, I believe there’s more talent in those 4 players combined than Jenik and co. (Blumel? Plasek?Pekar?)these guys made minimal impact by the way..
You know who did make some impact out side of Jenik last year though??
How about the 4 returning forwards I just mentioned! Add Raska to that.

The Russian American name was Arthur Kalileyev which might not be a Russian name at all.lol Maybe more ukrainian? He's American... I just couldn't remember his name but know it wasn't Michael Smith or something like that.haha
Thank you... I wasn't trying to be disrespectful. I literally couldn't remember his name when I replied!Uzbek.

Of course, this is the current performance. As it was written, Jeník was one of the leaders in scoring OHL and made huge progress last year.Maybe, but you have to consider the circumstances that Mysak was in.

It's always weird when you see your name referred to as the most common name in existenceOk, it was bugging me.lol
Jenik was at 56 points after 27 games.
