Much more positive than mine!

I didn't put it together but we only won ONE match last year.

This caught my eye:

He has our D as our biggest strength. I'd say it is goaltending as I felt we had 4 solid starters (including Dobes).

I will say it is nice that our top 2 forwards both play Centre. Mysak and Teply could cause some headaches!

Having Svozil on first pair would be pretty neat if it works out.

It's nowhere near Canada's top line but out top 2 lines are pretty good. I'd switch Has and Kubicek personally. I think Has is our best Dman going in and pairing him with Svozil would be great! Then a solid and experienced second pair of Kubicek/Klkorka.

What's funny is that this team is more suited towards Varada's style of coaching. I never liked him with elite players.. he seems to like the pack mentality approach. That's what this team needs.

I do hate that we just give these prestigious coaching spots to inexperienced former NHL stars. I don't think coaching is our issue but I fully expect next years coaches to be Vrbata/Polak and Plekanec.lol

Bednar is somewhat stagnant in development. We don't have such a good goalkeeper this year as last year.

You will see him progress pretty quick in the Q starting January.

I'd say Parik and Bednar are both equally good. I'd start with Parik and if (when) things get ugly, give Bednar the go.

I honestly think we'll see all 3 goalies before it's over.

I'd say our goaltending is our biggest strength to be honest... Canada has a 4th rounder, 7th rounder and a guy passed over in the draft twice. We have a third rounder and 4th rounder and a guy passed in the draft once (and another good goalie sitting in the USHL for 'reasons' who was also drafted).

When this is over I'll be giving the goalies a pass unless they literally shoot the puck into their own net.

But I am asking for pool purposes. I basically have to choose between Hlavaj, Parik, Bednar and Piiroinen.

Sounds like Hlavaj is the guaranteed starter but I dont think they can win a game

I'm a huge fan of all the nations... if I'm being honest, I'm big time excited to watch the matches between those 3. I think they'll all be full of drama and real good. I always want Slovakia to win and cheer for them but I am really excited about those games!

If Piiroinen is the starter you absolutely pick him. Hlavaj, Parik and Bednar are in for a rough week or 2.

If I had to pick between those 3... I agree with Czechcanadian... Hlavaj has best chance at 2 victories, then Parik followed by Bednar (only because Parik is probably getting first start and has a chance to 'run with it').

Also, Slovak goalies occasionally catch fire in this tourney!

Swiss have the worst team they’ve had in years.
Of course this is all opinion and prediction anyways but would be curious to hear your reasoning for it. That’s of course if you have any
