Cyberpunk 2077 - New RPG by CD PROJEKT RED

The ray tracing mode is quite disappointing as it only includes RT shadows. I'm surprised they didn't choose the lighting as that is the setting that really makes the game look next gen on PC but AMD's poor RT performance probably forced their hand.

Played a few hours, seems really good! It's like a more fleshed out Deus Ex which is awesome so I'll probably end up getting it.

I get the comparison but as a Deus Ex fan I was really disappointed in the RPG elements of Cyberpunk, especially considering it was based on an old school tabletop RPG. It doesn't feel like you have as many options or choices to craft a unique playstyle as you do in the best Deus Ex games and I didn't really feel like the game had anything interesting to say philosophically. For another comparison to me Cyberpunk is closer to Fallout 4 than Fallout: New Vegas and I definitely prefer the latter.

Having said that I'm looking forward to jumping back into the game at some point this year. I originally played on a base PS4 so it was a pretty brutal experience but I pushed through because I'm a sucker for the setting. I have a PS5 now so it should be a world of difference.

I originally played it on the PS4....got my refund, do have a PS5 now. I am hesitant to bother with jumping back in until the upgrades are more then just performance and/or graphical because I had just as much of an issue with the game just honestly not being very fun. We will see.

I launched Steam and see it's pulling a huge update (~50 GB!) for this.

I originally bought it for Xbox but had them give me a copy for PC (over a refund), and it does play much better on the PC...but the story hasn't gripped me either. Then again, I bought something like Disco Elysium, and that is not gripping me either, and these game's settings are generally in my wheelhouse. I might not be in the right mood or something. I think I just want a new (good) Fallout story/engine.

This game will be the game in 20 years people will still be talking about...overpromised, underdelivered.

It's decent now but will never live up to the hype

The police is still broken and the world feels so static with limited physics, empty roads, dumb AI, no wildlife (even though the game gives a lame excuse why its not there) etc

Been having lots of fun leveling up my character. Currently trying to make a hacker build. Been only doing the side quests for now.

Apparently the PS5 Upgrade has never worked outside of the USA or Poland. Glad I knew that before I bought the physical version.

Physical PS5 upgrade worked just fine for both me and my brother (Finland / EU).

Edit: There was an issue / bug early on that prevented upgrading, but it was fixed fast.

Bugs still there for me. I borrowed the game to see and yep no upgrade available. Just letting other people know. Might be an issue for certain regions.

Edit: nevermind, fixed itself. Must've been caused by the trial version already being installed deleting it fixed the problem

I haven't touched this since a few months after release, have all the postgame updates been mostly fixes/quality of life changes or have any actual new gameplay elements been added?

It's basically the same game still as far as I've experience on my ps5 raytracing plahthrough.

Which btw I have to say while raytracing doesn't do that much in certain scenes it makes a massive difference night and day almost.

Where are people at on this game? After years of updates and enhancements, is it worth picking up for PS5?
