As a PC gamer it's surprisingly refreshing to see console gamers treated like second class citizens for once LOL
Eh well apparently the PS5 and Xbox X performance are fine. Just the Ps4/Xbox One are god awful.

All ports have massive bugs however.

The game needed another six months. I'm not too bummed really, because there is so much content and different ways of playing that when the next gen editions come out I can play it again in a completely different way. Hell, I'm still playing the witcher.

People who don’t understand the development process are being overly dramatic. For a game that developed for two years, part of which was at home with all the distractions that go with it (kids, school, etc) on this many platforms was too ambitious. Not even GTA V (or any Version of GTA for that matter) released games on so many platforms at once.

Honestly, it sounds like you don't really understand the development process if you believe that this was developed in only two years. Between that and saying that it's nothing like GTA, you're being just as overly dramatic as the people that you're accusing, in my unbiased opinion (as someone who doesn't care one way or another about CDPR or how the game runs on consoles).

I mean this should have been expected. The launch kept getting pushed back, reports of massive crunch time, and they're making the game for like 5 different systems across two console generations. Just because they released it doesn't mean the game was going to be ready and anyone playing getting angry at it probably shouldn't have bought it in the first place.

Not pointing this at anyone here but more people like the imgur poster, but the hard truth is this thing has always happened and will keep happening because "GAMERS" continuously eat up the hype and rush out to buy the game as soon as it's launched. Personally sure I'm looking forward to Cyberpunk as well but I'll get back to it in a year or two when I can get the optimal experience at a better sale price.

Yeah same thoughts exactly. The game was mega-hyped, had huge delays multiple times, and had a super long development period to begin with. All the signs of a big mess. The game looks dope as f*** and I can't wait to play it, but it seemed to me like an obvious dumb move to buy it Day 1.

I'm not a huge fan of Rockstar's dated game design these days - but when you look at RDR2 or GTA 5 and compare it to this - the interactivity of the world, the density and AI of the NPCs and traffic, it's all just a step above with R*. You almost take for granted how impressive Rockstar's open worlds are when something like this is released by another talented studio with a massive budget.

I was just playing RDR2 online with my buddy last night and it's surprisingly really cool. Running around the Wild West with a bandit version of yourself, being a master hunter, moonshiner, or bounty hunter...awesome. The multiplayer game types are pretty good too, lots of modes i've never tried before.

I remember in the first trailer for this game the line was "I'm a big dreamer", that was CDPR telling us about their aspirations for this game. They were shooting for the stars, but they've got a long way to go, I don't know if they can patch this game into excellence.

And i'm sure they don't want to be spending years playing catchup on something they worked so hard on forever, instead of enjoying their baby.

This all describes the FF7 remake and that came out pretty smoothly to a glowing reception.

This isn't directed at you, but people seem to be really going out of their way to make excuses for CDPR and I'm not sure why.

I haven't played the game yet, but I just thought I would share this in case someone here had encountered any of the issues that are now supposed to be fixed.

I love these videos

I see these videos, but haven't seen anything remotely like any of them on my PS4 Pro. I had the ripperdoc quest glitch that was easy enough to overcome, I just reloaded my current progress and was fine, had the game crash once as well. Other than that, my game experience has been pretty damn good so far, 6 hours in.

Not a fan of driving, too easy to hit things/ people and get the cops on your ass... need to find a store or something which is the only thing I found that truly gets them off your ass. Just going away from the scene and hiding isn't enough, they'll be right back after you once spotted again if you don't go into a store.

Going into the store appears to clear your wanted status though completely every time.

I’m 11 hours in now and absolutely love it. Giving me Red Dead 2 vibes, which is the best game I’ve ever played. There’s a ton to do in the world. Little rough around the edges but I can live with them. When they enhance it for Series X, will probably play it again with a different path.

Haha i'm sure it's not as terrible as the videos show all the time, but I love videos like this, esp if they have a narrator lol. The UFC ones, and the WWE game ones were the best.

I didn’t mean it as an excuse for CDPR. More towards, “what were you all thinking buying this right away when their was a good chance there’d be major problems?”

Started playing on stadia yesterday on my laptop (waiting for the controller and chromecast Ultra to play it on my tv) and it runs really well and looks great. Very happy with my decision

I've spent more time installing, and then updating this game, than I have spent actually playing it. (Xbox)

Granted, I've been busy with other things, but like I'd actually want to play it right now, but can't, because.

Two consoles. The current gen release is supposed to be next year.
Yes, but it was already designed to take some advantage of the newer hardware too though. Just not yet fully optimized for it completely. Making the games forward compatible wasn't just "run the ps4 version on the ps5" easy. The systems don't typically work that way, which is why forward compatible game releases aren't all that common.

They did have to make changes to run the current game version on the new system, and those changes can already be clearly seen in the game performance.

That said, the game optimization is continuing for the new gen consoles, which is why they are getting a separate release on top of this... which current gen game owners will get for free after release when they get the next gen console (or if they already have the current gen version of the game playing on the next gen console).

In one of The Wire episodes prior to release, they touched a bit on the challenges releasing the game to work on both current and next gen consoles presented

I did have a bad render of Johnny Silverhand once last night outside V's apartment. He was partially morphed into the wall, and those digital blue streaks that seem like an aura around him from time to time caused his face to fail to fully render, leaving him faceless... no eyes nose or mouth.

Only bad render moment I've had in 12hrs of game play.

I did have a problem calling the car to me yesterday as well... I was a couple levels down from where the car was previously and it tried to take a path to me without roadways and got caught up in some structures between... smashing itself to pieces...I could hear it... I walked towards the sound and found it repeatedly trying to tumble over...I climbed up to the road, called it again and it arrived in terrible shape.

I thought maybe the game was making it appear as it was street chopped or something... all the doors were gone, the trunk lid was gone, the front and rear bumpers were gone. I hadn't just left it in the street for so long before. When I called it again later though it was in pristine shape, so just figured it was from just getting smashed to bits in the calling glitch.

That said...I find motorcycle riding to be SO MUCH smoother and well done in this game than car driving. So easy to get around on the motorcycle without hitting anything... weaving in and around traffic, splitting lanes between cars etc. Love it!

I'll collect cars still, drive them occasionally even, but the choppers are definitely my preferred method of travel! ;)
