A fool for trading something for nothing.. if!! Gauthier walks

You really think he wants to choose his team so badly that he'll sacrifice huge money to do it? This is the choice he's looking at:

That's a massive amount of money to leave on the table. Even on a bridge deal like Zegras, he could be losing out on big money. Never mind one of those huge 8 year deals. What you're suggesting could easily cost him 8 figures in career earnings. Not a path to be taken lightly.

And while no one talks about it, there's similar risks with CHL guys. They can re enter the draft after 2 years if unsigned.

Let's hope not lmao
So far the most concrete rumor as to why he didn't want to play for Philly is that they didn't sign him last year when he wanted to. Maybe it's another reason, but if it's true then it seems he really wants to sign a contract and is done with NCAA hockey.

Even if it's not true, there's massive incentive to sign and he's given no reason beyond he didn't want to play for Philly that he wouldn't sign.

Gauthier holding out with the Flyers, and him going back to college, was probably the best thing for his development, and for the Ducks. Several writers like Wheeler, Button, and etc, have high hopes that he will be a potential Top line, high impact player.

I personally think his floor now is maybe a 2nd liner, 30 goal, 50-60 point scorer. The kid has already played against men in the WC and produced. So think he will have a smooth transition to the NHL, especially with his size and skating. He went back to college and dominated his season and even has a shot at the HB.

Could care less he is not a line-driver, we have too many of those already. He is also very physical, is good on defense, and has an elite shot. I've watched about 20+ BC games, and am very excited with this kid. He is what the doctor ordered for this team.

Don’t necessarily disagree with your thesis but it’s tough for me to agree with the bold when watching our team play

I’m less worried about PV not signing and playing Gauthier. As soon as possible.

Gauthier is PV’s guy. GM’s seem to have a trait that once they want a player they tend to go after that player if that player become available after missing out on them.

The irony of this entire trade is Drysdale was a Murray pick and Murray was a consultant for the Flyers and involved in this trade.

For f***s sake, even the NHL minimum contract is a lot of money in real life.

$900K a year to play hockey as a 20 year old? He’s not going back to college
Especially considering you are always one bad injury from never playing again and walking away with nothing.

Bob Murray is either secretly working for the Ducks still or he's just a big Drysdale fan. He'll probably be fired in the off-season, he's probably avoiding Phillys GM atm lol like Peter avoiding Lomberg in Office Space.

BM doing us a solid to pay us back for the crap he did while GM. Philly fans are losing their minds trading Cutter for an injury prone player who just got injured.

I hear Briere now…

Wait a minute.

Didn’t you let Theodore go to the Knights so they wouldn’t take an injured Vatanen?

Are you one of the Bobs?
