Keep replacing coaches it's always going to be the same shit. The real issue is the core forwards taking up all the cap space and not dominating compared to their cap hits
Coaching is overrated if the players can]t get it done how kajKeep replacing coaches it's always going to be the same shit. The real issue is the core forwards taking up all the cap space and not dominating compared to their cap hits
Berubes system hasn’t brought much of an identity. I was always very hesitant in hiring a tough coach for a soft core. They get outhit regularly, they’re soft on the forecheck and back check. The special teams have been especially alarming. He’s reduced offensive ability of key forwards while not replacing it with defence or toughness. Kind of a rough start IMO. The defence itself, I am kind of on the fence whether it’s his system or the addition of Tanev and OEL but there has been some improvement. Stolarz is shaping up to be amazing but on nights when Woll gets the net it gives me serious Babcock/Keefe vibes of a team that just won’t go far.
Tre did that in Calgary...how did that work outHow many coaches and GMs do we need to turf before we realize it is the players...
I am not saying Berube is the second coming of of Scotty Bowman, but we have watched this core flounder under several coaches now.
Start trading core pieces
No it doesn't. It just means that there's more to a record than 5v5 play. Half of our wins at that point last year were in OT/SO, and our PP was hot.So the same record with 2 totally different sets of fancy stats……kinda flys in the face of the notion that those stats actually mean anything
To be clear, the tiny sample of 5v5 stats to start last year was the outlier. We had better underlying numbers through Keefe's tenure than we have this year so far. These are significantly better underlying numbers which is what one would expect playing a more direct, lower risk game.
And yet no more success under Keefe then BerubeNo it doesn't. It just means that there's more to a record than 5v5 play. Half of our wins at that point last year were in OT/SO, and our PP was hot.
