DEVILS (11-3-0) vs. COYOTES (6-6-1)

Head-to-Head:

The Devils and Coyotes meet for the first time this season. The Devils are at the end of a three-game homestand, while the Coyotes are in the midst of a 14-game road trip.

The Coyotes are the owners of the third-ranked power play scoring at 29.6 percent, while the Devils have the eight-best penalty kill (82.6 percent). The Devils and Coyotes are on opposite ends of the spectrum for goals against and goals for early this season. New Jersey is ranked third in goals for (3.64), while the Coyotes rank 24th in the category (2.85). In goals against, the Devils continue to have the edge ranked fifth in the league (2.57) and the Coyotes are ranked 26th with 3.54 goals against per game.

Devils team scope:
For the first time in a while, the Devils will play an American opponent, after facing all Canadian teams in their past five games. New Jersey is currently riding the league's longest winning streak, with eight straight wins.

Over the current win span, captain Nico Hischier has continued to string together points, with a two-goal effort on Thursday night, including the overtime game-winner against the Senators. Hischier takes a career-high six-game point streak (5g-4a) into the game against Arizona.

Coyotes team scope:
The Coyotes are on a lengthy road trip with 14 games outside of Arizona in a row. The team has been a bit of a surprise in the Western Conference, after finishing at the bottom of the standings last season, they enter New Jersey with a .500 record.

Clayton Keller leads the Coyotes with 15 points in 13 games (4g-11a), while Nick Ritchie and Lawson Crouse are tied for the lead in goals, each player with six goals.

By the Numbers:
The last time that the Devils earned a nine-game winning streak was Nov.17, 2007, to Dec. 7, 2007.

The Devils are 10-0-0 this season when Hischier has at least a point, while they are 7-0-0 against Western Conference opponents.

Arizona has scored a goal with the man advantage in nine of their 13 games to start the year.

I think we should seperate Haula & Hughes. Throw Haula on the 3rd line & bring Sharangovich back up with Hughes. Perhaps this gets Rango/Hughes going. Maybe Haula can get a goal for once since he will be playing weaker competition.
