Could this be the year the Bruins finally miss the playoffs?

Would Sacoo taking over change much?
The roster still has significant deficiencies and Sacco was notoriously bad when he was a head coach in Colorado. But I'd have to think that a change would at least loosen the team up and that guys like Pastrnak, Lindholm, and McAvoy wouldn't be underperforming so much.

Basically, it can go one of two ways, either it jolts the team to wake up and reach their potential or they bottom out and get a high draft pick. And either one is preferable to the status quo.

Hey, why not Babcock?

Teams with scoring don't normally trade those guys for lesser or non-scorers. Other GMs aren't really motivated to solve your problems.

Right. So teams don't trade for draft picks or prospects or Dmen or goalies 🤷. You know trades to solve a teams need or scoring woes have been happening since the beginning of hockey, it's why trades happen. 🤦

We can expect a new coach bump. But who knows what they look like by March.
The team leadership is not what it used to be under Chara and Bergeron. A new coach will only do so much but they traded scoring depth and vets that cared and would show pride.

Boston worst DIFF in the Atlantic (-21), yet still in 4th place, partially due to more games played.

If report is true and Sacco takes over -- good luck with that. Slow team built not for this era. If the team gets worse with Montgomery gone then blame has to be on the GM.

Ballsy move by Sweeney after his off-season cock ups. Might have been wiser to keep Montgomery and address a faulty roster next summer. Sweeney has now cast the spotlight on himself. Will be interesting to see how the team responds.

Would be fun if Montgomery wins a Cup next season with a new team. He's a great coach. Bruce Cassidy knows the feeling.

The Florida Panthers have absolutely broke the Bruins

Not only have they whooped their ass in the playoffs for back to back years, the Bruins literally reformed their team this past off-season just to match the panthers, but all they did was get bigger and slower.

The Florida Panthers are their daddies
