I don't know, he's a solid player, but he had 7 points this year in 75 games. That's kind of my whole problem with our bottom six at this point.
I feel ya, we all want scoring and we certainly need it from the bottom 6 but I just think we need more guys who are noticeable in the ways that he is, consistently takes the body and plays aggressive, I’m tired of wondering if my teams gonna show up in that regard

But what they're doing is going to set themselves up for success as the series wears on. Florida spent a lot of time in the offensive zone making the Rangers chase them around. They're just not going to throw shots to the net from every angle like Carolina did. They're going to continue to hit an already compromised Fox, because he's not mobile enough to avoid the checks right now. Their forecheck created many Rangers giveaways so we couldn't get up the ice and establish anything other than dumping the puck in a going for a change. Their team defense created turnovers in their own zone. And they even forced some unforced errors just by getting back. Look no further than Panarin's giveaway in the o-zone which led to the 1-0 goal.

The Rangers will adjust as best they can for tomorrow night I'm sure. I hope it's 1-1 going into Sunday afternoon.

I'm not saying they were all bad but that might have been the least threatening offensive performance of the playoffs against us since game 1 against the Caps. I'm sure that won't continue though.

The best thing about Lomberg is that he can move.

We really need some speed on that line. Can't hit what you can't catch, as the old adage goes.

Goodrow has a decent hockey IQ and tries to do the right things, but he's slower than King Mabel. Everyone else is just kinda there. Rempe has good sprint speed, but no agility, and he's too easy to get around.

If we had one guy to get in first and disrupt quickly, it would change the whole dynamic of the line. Dorsett did that for us with Moore and Boyle.

Bob is a great goalie. Creating the chance is only half the battle this time, gotta put something into the finish too. Losing a winnable game sucks, but I'm nowhere near ready to blow it up.
I felt like some on this board were underrating Bob. When Bob is on his game he can win a series himself just like Shesty. We have been very lucky in the last 3 seasons playoffs. Bob is only the second good goalie we have faced in 3 years.

No we looked like complete ass for 90% of the game. Don't listen to the pom pom fans who think we could have won. Literally nobody on offense showed up.
Oh I get that. We sucked. But Florida didn't totally dominate us. Of course, if you are saying it was all Florida's doing to make us suck then we might not have a chance. I sure expect us to step up in the next game. If that looks similar, then we have issues.

I'm glad he's come around! He had the yips at first but I guess that's to be expected at 20, and yeah, his partners did suck.

Full credit to the people who were more patient with him.

What's odd is that Schneider is becoming what we hoped Miller would become:

A good-sized, physical defensemsman, who can skate, who also offers offensive upside.

Miller has all the tools, but makes horrific decisions, sometimes, and is also prone to the big mistake. I still wouldn't trade him considering who that would leave as the top 6 unless a good D was coming back in the trade.

At least we can put to bed the nonsense "yeah, but he's only been playing D for x amount of years."

We played like f***ing shit last night. We couldn't make/receive passes, shots were off, couldn't hit, skating was off, etc..

Good news is that I know the Rangers are so much better than that showing.
The Rangers absolutely are. Unfortunately, Florida absolutely is too.

Florida played a fairly mediocre game and hardly created any chances on the road, and still came away with a win. That's the truly discouraging part. It's tough to lose home ice advantage against an effort like that. Especially considering you know they have a lot more in their tank.

Motte was good at that, too, but can't stay healthy.

Didn't watch the game, but I suppose nothing to be too alarmed about? Sucks to lose, especially getting shutout, but Panthers looked beatable?
it was basically a game where everything that could go wrong went wrong. sticks exploding all night, hitting the pipe multiple times, shooting wide on basically empty net, guys falling all over the ice. they didnt exactly play well but they got negative luck in this game lol and also fox's injury seems to be getting worse not better

Yeah basically all of this lol

I just want to see us actually dump pucks with speed and purpose and then get in there and go to work, I’m so tired of the one and done over passing rush plays from the top 6 followed up by a bottom 6 that can’t put pressure on the other team and grind them down, we need guys who can actually get there and do it consistently instead of guys with good intentions and nothing else

No team in the playoffs has been pinned as badly as we have now it looks to be back to back series.

What is the goddamn reason for this? The Islanders did not get pinned like we did versus Carolina.

Laviollette needs to get to the video tape - we need to find shots. We’re not doing enough. We don’t have possession. We’re one and done in the zone.

We very much deserve to lose that game last night 7-0.

NST had high-danger chances at 10-9 Rangers. I think that's generous on both counts, but either way, it is low.

I'm annoyed because it's mostly the same shit I've been annoyed about all year. Every team has problems. It doesn't make them less annoying after what, game 93?

But yeah, we kinda sucked and they still didn't outchance us. Even Igor sucked and we easily could have won. I think that tells you that it's there.

We do need to generate more. I don't like this matchup for winning a mud fight.

There is no way fla had 9 high danger chances. No way. Where? What? Barkov in front and maybe that spin around in the slot by verhahaghe maybe that counts? Where’s a third? Seriously.

We had multiple high danger chances including posts

I feel like we could correct a few simple things (better passes/stop with the turnovers), get a bit of luck and things would've looked a lot better, more within reach. We had a few odd man rushes- we can get behind their D. Florida will adjust but if we focus we can be successful.

It's true.

All they're doing is committing 500,000 penalties a game in an environment where nothing gets called.

They're an excellent hockey team but I'm already tired of hearing about their style. They're doing nothing that every good team doesn't do.
I agree with this.

The Rangers didn’t have a PP until 1:26 to go in the 2nd period. They did end up with 2 PP and didn’t score. I get that. But there’s no way Florida committed not a single penalty for 38:34.

Not blaming the refs. This is just the reality and it favors the Panthers

Their second goal certainly was. The "shot" (from Lafreniere) came right in front of Igor. That counts.

But yeah, I agree it was generous.
