I don’t even want to talk about it anymore with what’s going on, I mean can’t wait to see what June and July brings for 2020, but hey at least those Murder Hornets were a bust. :dunno:

We need sports back now, get it done, if it can be done safely and/or with precautions.
 
A year ago yesterday I was in the wedding party of a good friend of mine. Great wedding, beautiful weather, lots of dancing, I can't believe how far from that we are today. There are some things in my life that have improved leaps and bounds since last year but I miss parties, I miss not worrying about riots, I miss the simple life.

Yes you did. About 2014 would have been the right time to leave town...you know after all the excitement that the summer run of the Stanley cup playoffs And outdoor showing of games At Bryant park.

Guys I’m having a strange medical issue, for the past couple months I’ve had this whooshing sound in my head/ears. It’s usually triggered by hearing a loud or high pitched sound, or when I’m laying down. The past week I’ve had a headache accompanying this, when I googled my symptoms it seems it aligns with this condition called “Pulsatile Tinnitus” which can be caused by brain tumor, hemorrhage, aneurism, blood vessel issues, etc so I’m kinda freaking out. I went to my family doctor and he referred me to an ENT at first, they were taking too long so he referred me to a Neurologist and they were taking too long as well so he just sent me to the Emergency Room of the Hospital to get a CT scan. When I got there they just started asking me about Covid symptoms and disregarded anything I mentioned about what was going on with my head.

The first nurse I dealt with took my temperature and said I had a fever even though I saw the temperature myself and it was only 97.9, she then told me to follow this other nurse. She led me to what appeared to be the Covid Unit, and she started asking me questions about having a cough, chest pain, shortness of breath, etc I said no to everything and she was like then why did you come here? I then told her about my symptoms (which she had no idea I had, even though the receptionist was inputting everything I had on the computer) I asked if I was sent to the wrong part of the hospital or something because I had no worry about having Covid at all. I then heard her speaking with another nurse outside the glass room I was in and I heard one say to the other “He has no covid symptoms” and the other saying something about needing to get their test numbers up, so they came back and did the Covid Swab on me. HOLY MOLY it hurt lmao I was expecting it to be a cotton swab they just wipe the inside of my mouth with, but they shoved this thing so far up my nose I didn’t even know it could go that far!

I asked her how long the results took and she told me 3-7 days, she then left and the doctor came in and asked me about covid symptoms. I explained why I was there and he then told me oh it just sounds like tinnitus, and I told him yea I’d been reading about pulsatile tinnitus and how it can be caused by all these scary illnesses, and then he just told me that because of how young & fit I am that it couldn’t be anything sinister and that there’s no point in doing any tests. He did look in my ears and said everything looked normal. He then said I’m free to leave, which was sort of weird if they were worried I potentially had Covid why would they juts say okay you can leave now once I got the test? They didn’t make any mention of self isolating or anything until I get my results? It felt as if they were brushing off anything I told them and just wanted to test me for Covid. I’m going to call my family doctor again tomorrow and try to see if I can get into an ENT or Neurologist any time soon but I’m very worried.

Just wondering if any of you guys have had any similar symptoms to this or experiences. And please give your prayers :)

While reading your post, this sentence jumped out at me....very odd....certainly explains why they said you could leave. I really hope hospitals aren't padding their testing numbers.

Good luck man. I'd refrain from self-diagnosing through google, it's not super accurate and usually sounds a lot worse than it is.

Doctors who are ignoring what you are saying are bad doctors.

I got out in 2015 and it was the best decision of my life. I was somewhere about 8th or 9th Generation NYC resident, but just in the last decade nearly all of my immediate family has fled the city & state.

Its just not worth it anymore.

not sure how they keep track yet anybody traveling to Fla from NY, NJ or CT needs to self quarantine for 14 days. Violation is supposedly a fine and jail time.

Some of my family went back down and they had no issues and no one asked them questions. Plus Florida is like in phase 3 or one of their later phases. I think if you have residence they leave you alone.

EJ talked to nurses for a while and then the doctor came in--sounds like the nurses were pushing the covid thing more than the doctor. He strikes me as someone in his early 20's and if he has no underlying issues it seems like it would be almost better to get the virus than to deal with tinnitus the rest of your life. My mom had had a version of that---ear wax related---and it was very often a real misery for her and she always had issues hearing. I don't really but my ears will ache badly and some times for a couple days after a long airplane flight. I don't know if that's related but that's the reason I don't like to fly. The funny thing is I'll listen to music very loud and with headphones and guitars and amplifiers and no problem with that at all.

Anyway Ed should go back to his doctor and say 'hey, these guys aren't taking me seriously. Get me a specialist'.

I'm 41 and I've had several weird sensations and issues over the years that are just flat out unexplainable really. I had a "wet" sensation on the top of my head that comes and goes. I've had warm and odd sensations in the left side of my head. They still come and go but it isnt a one off thing, they stick around. I've had benign tingling and restless sensations in my legs that suddenly disappeared and some other things I didn't even address with my doctor.

I've also had benign positional vertigo that really sucked, but was cured by doing a simple maneuver that I found online myself after seeing 3 doctors about it. I've had Cat scans and MRI's on all of the other issues I mentioned earlier as well and everything came up clear. The one bit of feedback they actually gave me was that I have a small cyst in my TMJ joint that could possibly be pinching a nerve and that could be the issue, but nothing that really needs to be addressed. Whatever it has subsided and I feel better knowing I got the scan.

I've spoken to others who've had similar experiences and they also were told its possible that the sensations were brought on by stress or anxiety. The best thing you can do is demand a head scan. The doctors will give you a run around and will try make $ on your visits and referrals. Don't waste your time and money. I had to fight my insurance company to allow me to get the scan because they were deeming the symptoms unnecessary for a scan. My primary Dr. thought that was ridiculous. Don't take no for an answer. This is what you pay health insurance for. There is incredible equipment out there that should be utilized. This isnt the 17th century. Make use of it. Cut right to the chase and get the scans you need to give you peace of mind and make sure you are ok. Very good chance that it is nothing, but you can drive yourself crazy, lose sleep and actually make the symptoms worse if you don't.

Crazy that they put you into the Covid ward for something like that. When it comes to healthcare don't let any doctor, nurse or emt put you in a position that doesn't feel right. You are in charge.
