I don't know, I just hate these things - potentially dangerous cheap shots should not be a legitimate part of the game (like several people seem to claim). And I don't care who does them to whom, they are disgusting in all cases.

Busted knees end plenty of careers. For a professional athlete to go for someone´s knee is pretty much as low as it gets.

Also i believe there's a "reason" why Perry did what he did, and it's not that Patrik is too good player to handle.
I'm not certain of this but i believe that Patrik is kind of a agitator himself. Definetly not a saint on the ice.
There's a reason why guy like Barkov doesn't get that kind of treatment pretty much ever.
He's a gentleman on and off the ice.

If this was Ben Hutton on Jani Lajunen the media would have nothing to write about and this thread wouldn't exist. Or if Perry had fallen face first into the boards it would have been labeled as unintentional.

?Canada started it with Marchand from the get go. Before the game even started Marchand was yapping in Laine's face. Canada played Marchand against Laine so he could be in his face all the time.
And it wasn't just him. Perry and Hall with knee hits. After every shift Laine was on ice there was somebody in his face. Of course Laine responds to these.
I wonder how many hours Team-Canada watched Laine's highlights before the game but it was ONLY thing they focused in the whole game.
Well now they know how good he is. Hopefully they didn't get enough of Laine and will focus on him if/when they meet again in the finals.

Don't get me wrong, im huge fan of Laine, but i do think that he says some pretty annoying stuff to opponents on the ice
US players told to Checzs commentators that Laine was talking **** and disrespecting them on the ice when Finland and Usa played.
If this was the case against Canada then no wonder that he got those "reminders" from older nhl stars.
This is only a speculation tho.
Still don't think that Perry or Hall tried to injure the kid, and the moves wasn't so bad that there is a need for 500 Laine's mothers to start a crusifixion campaign against them
Would be completly diffirent thing if Perry have slashed him with force on the knee for example.

It's complete BS. It's 100% sure that US players didn't tell anything like that Czechs commentators.US players tried to heat Laine so of course he responds to them in the same way. But it's still 100% sure US players didn't start to cry to Czechs commentators. This in one of the most hilarious things I've heard here.
Guys like Komarov and Marchand find stuff about certain players personal life, dead mothers, cheating girlfriends etc. And even they don't get same treatment.

NHL established players don't give any attention to 18 year old no name players, not even to the overhyped ones, unless that player attracts attention upon himself...
Perry's play was marginally dirty and uncalled for. Perry should be concerned about scoring goals and winning games.

He is my favourite finnish player right now and im not trying to downplay him in any means, but knowing his past and even some interviews from this spring, it's evident that he can be almost overly confident and a bit cocky at times. Because of this i wouldn't be shocked if he does some "tiki-talk" on the ice occasianally.
And it's not a bad thing, but you have to be prepared for a special treatment if you do that.
Because NHL players don't go around after the game crying about someone saying something mean to them. Even if that would be true.
If someone actually gave an interview like that Finnish media would have picked it up and the interview would be available for everyone.
A cheap shot , not overly dangerous, play from a guy who should never be wearing a C.

Everybody get's cheapshots sometimes. It's a different thing when almost the whole team comes after you like they did to Laine yesterday.

I remember one with Team Finland when Jarkko Ruutu hit Jagr. Maybe they should ban team Canada from international tournaments if they do these kind of cheapshots in every game.

Yeah, Perry is a massive ******. But the guy can actually play hockey. He's a marvelous player.
If Laine carves out a career like Perry I'll be happy. 50 goal scoring MVP wingers are a rare breed.
