like yeah, Chef got tagged hard but it was 100% clean. Like if Lowry did that hit in that spot, I'd probably still be singing his praises. But let's be honest, I think we all kind of spat our gum out a bit when Jomo went berzerk. At least I know I did.

Bruins got lucky to even get a point with all the gift wrapped power plays.
They are so overrated.

All the Bruins fans a Mts Bell Place can go home and cry in their pillow.
lol

You realize they were on the road without Chara, McAvoy, Nash, Backes and DeBrusk and rested Rask?
Just got Bergeron and Krug back.

I'm impressed they've somehow managed to keep getting points.

What a moronic move by Grzcelzyk. I don't like the hit but come on, use your head.

okay, in which way are you questioning my credulity? my claim that the DOPS is inconsistent to a fault? Are you saying Grz brought it on himself?

I'm fine with being told I need to be smarter. Just tell me where you think I'm failing.

Couldn't agree more with either of your points here.

My defence is solely for Jomo who lost it -- I think we both agree on that! -- and that his history is insignificant.. like, is this not the first borderline dirty hit he's dished out in his life? The first time he "lost it", as it were?

Oh if we are discussing whether JoMo is a dirty player, no he is not :D But I am so disappointed with the dirty PLAY he made I just can't believe it :(

Yeah we're lockstepping in spades on that point. It was an incredibly dirty play. I don't think a sane human being that watched that game could say otherwise. But if you told me:

You: "A Jets player laid out a dirty hit"
Me: "ugh, who did it?"
You: "Josh Morrissey"

I'd probably still be laughing and still too busy to ask "wait, no, seriously?"

I couldn't literally imagine a Jets person less likely to do it, and that includes Hellebuyck, Comrie, Maurice and Dennis Bayek.

That was a great game. I'm not even overly mad at JoMo and PoMo for making it interesting. After the 2nd Tanev goal I felt certain we gonna win and never wavered.

I did not considered the hit dirty, I mean it wasn't even same guy that hit Sheifele, was it? The hurting bit looked accidental. However, even if it were a minor, it was a stupid play at that point.
And the challenge? Perhaps it only took so long because they thought Jets bench must have seen something. They looked extra carefully and then sent somebody asking just which game you're watching. I'm sure, as Maurice said, he wouldn't gamble like this if there were bigger stakes in this game.

Let's hope the bottom six/three stays hot, that's ultimately what should win us the cup.

They’re actually *****ing about the refs over there. That and saying their team is trash and the Jets are overrated. The typical crap that you hear after losses.

Actually there are quite a few fans over there saying we are a really good team.....they have a debate going. PGT’s after losses are always a bit salty and we are guilty of that charge too.

Nah, challenge sucked
Positive expectation would have been eat the goal and believe your team brings it home still up 1.

Challagend was horrific you can’t do that (based on what we say) at the risk of going 3v5 for that long. We handed then a goal???

The only good thing to ever come from Boston..

Dropkick Murphys.

That's it. Unless Boston Creampie originated there also.

I've heard Boston is a great city from European perspective. Don't know if it's true, but I've ticked it as one of the places to visit.

I've heard of Boston Cake, but this sounds more delicious. Have to try it some time, honestly.

We handed them, assuming it was certain we'd lose the challenge, about half a goal, given that 2 mins of 5v3 is about 0.7 GA wheras 2 mins of 5v4 is about 0.2 GA.

I mean, we won, so yeah, the ends justify the means p>

someday I'll be in my dungarees and I'll go have a spuckie and tonic before I park my car at Harvard Yard. I don't know if that will matter but at the very least, the locals will mistake me for one of their own ;)

Based on the way boston’s Pp was rag-dolling our pk all night long, i’d say we handed them a goal. Since the requirement of overturning a call on the ice is clear evidence, it makes no sense to me to risk giving them a 2 minute 5-3 unless you actually see clear video evidence prior to the challenge. I didn’t see any angle that showed anywhere close to conclusive evidence the play was offside. Based on the vid I saw, I would describe it as “Maurice took a flyer” rather than as a 50-50 chance...

The whole reason they made it a penalty on a failed challenge was so coaches would be more inclined to only challenge if they were fairly certain it was offside right?

I mean, I don't know what else I can say but "2 minutes of 5v3 is 0.7 goals, 2 minutes of 5v4 is 0.2 goals, 0.7 - 0.2 = 0.5" to suggest that we actually didn't hand them a whole goal.

The reason they upped the penalty for a failure was that it used to be a 1.00 versus 0.01 goal gamble.

Now, it's (on average) a 1.00 vs 0.25 goal gamble.

It's still very much in favor of the challenger.

Thoughts on the game: It was really weird and entertaining. Most players didn't play very well, although Byfuglien and Little both had really good games. Chiarot has been very good in his role. Making breakout passes even. All of Boston's goals came on the powerplay so whatever. Little is playing very well recently. This is very good news for the team, as the center depth is now outstanding. Ehlers Stasny and Laine had their worst game so far that I've seen. For whatever reason they couldn't handle the Bruins at all.

I would be ok with Morrissey serving a game or two. It was a targeted and dangerous hit. Sometimes the quiet people are the ones who go the most crazy in the most unexpected ways.

I didn’t notice it much before. But after watching this more and more I think it’s less and less likely morrrissey gets suspended. He had his shoulder lined up and was moving for the hit. Then the Bruin turn right in front of Morrissey
His feet came off the ground because he lost his balance when the target wasn’t there to be hit anymore.

Morrissey prob gets a game but.. If u watch the replay he engages b4 the Bruin player actually turns his back to the play. Was it a bad hit? Sure. Was it malicious? No.

Would it have been avoided if the Bruin doesnt turn while morrissey is already committed to the hit? Yup.

Morrissey left his feet. It is this that will probably get him a game or two suspension.

Agreed, not happy with Po Mo for that stupid challenge, or his spotters who told him to challenge. You HAVE to be 100 % confident it was offside, the price of giving up a 5 on 3 with a 1 goal lead was not worth that.

They way the NHL calls any penalty or offside you can never be 100% confident in any challenge.

Bettman was hired by Jacobs 25 years ago to make sure Canadian teams never succeed again and that's exactly what he has achieved. This is exactly the officiating the Jets will get in the playoffs according to script. As long as Canadians keep throwing time and money at a pipe dream, ownership will agree to lose and do nothing.

Canadian teams have not won a SC because there hasn't been one team since 93 that was good enough to win. Not because the league conspired against them.

I have good news for you. The Jets will now break this drought.
If not this year then next year.
