Why?

If he was 5'5 when he started in the Q at 16 and was 5'10 in the NHL at 20 then that isn't that crazy I went from 5'6 to 5'10 in that same age range.

:sarcasm:

you realise thats photoshopped, I hope

this is such a stupid thread.... is hes not 5'10 so hes 5'9. Ok lets move on.

shall we talk about X player being listed 7 lbs more than he looks to be as well?

If you don't like the thread...why not just leave and not enter in the first place?

You guys are giving the OP a hard time but seriously he has a valid point. I mean look at this picture. He is so short that he cant get over the boards and he is waiting for someone to come over and push him up.

Sad. The Coyotes should really invest in a step ladder, but I know they probably can't afford it.

I'd say compare him to Caillou, but Caillou is like 6'10.

By my calculations Garland is either 6'11 and the tallest NHL player ever or 5'3

He might be 5'10". Some people have bad postures like that. When they walk or go around or do things they just sink. But when measured, back against a wall, forced straight up, they are way taller than they look.

And some people always present themselves at their peak stretchiness.

Donald Trump had small hands. It made him appear larger to the ladies.

Every short player gets listed at 5'10. Unless they're REALLY short, in which case they get listed at 5'8.

I mean, I went to the season ending signings where he was wearing his normal shoes, and he looked to be nearly as tall as I am (5’11.5). I was really put off by that, because I expected him to be much shorter

The 5'6" guy feels like he needs to be listed at 5'10" because there are no 5'6" guys in the league... think about how circular that logic is.

What's crazy to me is that in a billion dollar league, this stuff isn't standardized and reported accurately. There's absolutely no reason to fake this kind of information. Just report it accurately, and there will be no need to fake it.

Crazy that the league needs freakin' Ernst & Young to come in and observe height measurements.

why would the league waste resources on something so inconsequential as listed heights on nhl.com?

Kinda of wonder how Stankovens listed height is going to be . In junior he's currently listed as 5'8 and he is very much not .
