with crosby dinged up how does a person even suggest that?
mcdavid is good and all but it's starting to become a derangement syndrome.
Indeed. Malkin raises his game without Crosby.

It was I who revived the thread (not an Oilers fan), purely out of interest in his performance thus far.
Agree, McDavid is really only good for shooting, skating, passing, scoring, game awareness, etc.am I the only person who thinks McDavid is only good for shooting and skating? Matthews is a much better COMPLETE player so far.

he seemed to have a shift in the 3rd where he got angry or something but whatever it was he decided to take over and essentially nobody could do anything on the opposition.
pretty insane shift.
So far Edmonton is 6-2 in the playoffs. The idea that McDavid needs to be better for them to advance doesn't hold much water.
You were saying? Connor has been OK, but he needs to be great to elevate his team.
I think he has had a very satisfactory playoff in relation to his stature as the "Next One". As long as he didn't look completely lost out there, his first playoff experience would be gravy in terms of his development.
That being said, if the narrative was until a week ago was that he was great because the Oilers were winning, what is the narrative now that he has produced more but the Oilers are losing?
personally I think he's been unreal. He literally can alter the momentum when things are going against the Oilers way he will go on the ice and force the play back into ducks territory. Easily Edmontons best player, personally I think he's the best player in the series.

Thank you for that. It was nice not worshiping him for a few days. We were able to listen to Oilers fans whine about the refs instead.
Not sure which is worse.
