Honestly if I were an Edmonton fan—I wouldn’t be that upset if McDavid has to miss time.
Last season was a long grind to recover from their poor regular season start. And they had a long, hard playoffs on top of that too.
McDavid and Draisaitl probably each need a long rest at some point to get ready for another playoff run.

He's one of the main reasons they make playoffs. You don't want a 4-5 record then a mcdavid-less slump and then he has to come rally the troops again like last year. Then again, he's capable of anything.

Hopefully it's just a week or so. Having injured ankles over the years, which sucks if that's your job, I'm glad he's looking out for himself. I'd guess it's a bad sprain.

Lifetime suspension to that specific part of the board in Columbus.Blatant intent to injure, should be a suspension but there wasn't even a penalty. And here the league can't figure out why ratings are cratering into the basement.

Tried diving to draw a penalty and it turned out badly for him. Maybe this will be a painful lesson to him that his refusal to play like a man has consequences.
There was definitely a trip but so what?
