Don't if he qualifies as a generational player but I present to you the American Goat: 5ft10 Patrick Kane. 3x Stanley Cup Champions and has the biggest swag in the league. Thank you.

It's funny because Bedard reminds me of him, they have very similar playing styles.

For sure bro..PK is as close as you can get to generational..Love him. Marner the same..But fanboys here are pumping CB and Michkov as the next Crosby/McDavid/OVs and aint likeley happening unless they grow a bit.

Bedard vs Michkov is going to top Matthews vs Laine and Hughes vs Kakko levels of toxicity

Lets pray for Canada : Russia game for bronze. That could be interesting comparison to bot skilled guys.

Hehe, right now it's just mostly Russians vs Canadians, so it's more or less civilized, because mostly between hardcore prospect followers, who aren't that crazy. When the draft year will come, though, and especially when they'll be picked (by Canadian teams, lol), then the main show will start.

Yeah the Laine vs Matthews debate was really tame until the draft lottery, then it exploded. That one was quelled rather quickly. Crosby vs. Ovi still rages on and likely won't ever truly be solved. Both have been generational players and left a legacy on the league that is still growing. It's very possible that both Bedard and Michkov have a similar battle. One's the superstar goalscorer and the other is more of a playmaker hybrid. Hopefully they both land on teams that give them a good shot at posting some high stats and potentially some individual and team awards.

Yeah for sure, they might still grow , especially CB who isnt 16 till July, but the other kid is well past 16 and not uncommon to be done growing at that age. As for best-on best...You know not even half the players in this tourney from teams like Sweden, Can , US and Russia go on to have an NHL careers right? That percentage plumets to single digits for all the other teams in the tournament. U18 tournament offers a taste of some of the talent on the hozizon but overall, as a best-on-best its no where near U20 in quality of play and number of future NHLers
They have 8 months age difference, other is likely to grow and other not? At 15&16? Just lol

And it’s pretty obvious the number drops in comparison when comparing U18 and u20, that’s just common sense, but they’re currently the best players of that age, so it’s best on best just like u20 is. Thats just logical.

Nuetral just here to say both are incredible talents. Could care less which one ends up better but enjoyed watching them both this tournament.

Hope michov loses his semi though

Something nice about seeing Michkov and Bedard atop the scoring race ( don't worry Michkov guys, I realize he has played one less game). Hopefully they become huge stars and we can look back at this tourney as where the battle between them began.

Excited to watch Russia play tonight to get a taste of Michkov's overall game - beyond the highlight reel.

As we expected, our two generational upcoming talents are tied for 1st in scoring (for now as Michkov has a game in hand coming up right now against the Finns). The hype is completely real with these two.

It's been the Michkov and Bedard show at this U-18s. All the more impressive is outside of the Hlinka Gretzky Cup this is as close as we can get to a best-on-best in this age group.

Pretty ridiculous what these two have done as 16 and 15 year old at this tournament. Hoping for a Canada v Russia for Gold as always in any international event. Having these two headline it would make it all the better.

Bedard is trending really well and could be #1 most years, but Michkov might be the most talented player to join the league since Crosby.

I find Bedard a cut above. Rather, Michkov's level compares with Wright's.

High Franchise: Bedard
Medium Franchise : Michkov, Wright

These are the equivalents of Crosby, Ovechkin and Kane

I mean Crosby. If you look at Michkov's level of performance it's better than McDavid at this point.

Yeah, and at this point if I were an NHL GM looking at tanking the next 2 years, the two players I want are Bedard and Wright.

One tournament doesn't enshrine a players better than another. McDavid has only gotten better every single year hes been in the league. Few players are able to consistently improve on what they do for that long. It will be interesting to see how Michkov develops before he comes over to the NHL. I think he has a lot of potential to be a very good goalscorer on the wing. And could very well compete for Rockets when he does. But I see Bedard and Wright as more centers who will likely spread their scoring out more. They might not score more goals than Michkov but they could easily end up with more points. Similar to Crosby and Ovechkin or McDavid and Matthews. One is more likely to compete for Rockets the other is more likely to compete for Art Ross.

Nobody scored more goals/points then peak Ovechkin. Matthews never did and never will compete for a AR and that’s not even because of McDavid.

I love that poll right not is exactly 50/50
Both of these players have a chance to be generational if they keep developing.
It will be awesome to see them go head to head in the gold medal game tonight
