Outsider fan coming in peace.

Was wondering what the expectations are for Bedard with the blackhawks fandom for next year and beyond?

I'm super high on hik and think he will be Mcdavid's heir in 2-3 years.

Can see him passing Bobby Hull as the greatest Blackhawk ever if he puts it all together.

Stan Mikita would be the guy for him to pass. But I do agree he’ll have a shot if he hits his ceiling.

A lot of it will depend of what the rest of the roster looks like. Will he have a Leon Draisaitl to play with in his prime?

I think a 70 point rookie season would be a good start.

We’re pretty damn excited for the season to start.

I think a reasonable expectation is looking at the the guy that just left, Patrick Kane and seeing how his career played out. Hawks got Bedard but they still need another player of that caliber.

No I think he's a tier below.
I'm not ready to say he's generational until he lights up the NHL like McDavid and Crosby.

For the record, Kane scored the most points of any NHL player in 2010-2020 decade.

If Bedard is Kane+....

Everyone already considered Kane just a slight bit below Crosby and Ovi...add an elite shot and what do you get?

Sounds generational to me if "all" he is is Kane with an elite shot.

I think he's at the top of the mountain, right on the edge of generational, could go either way. I don't doubt that he's going to be in the Richard race on a regular basis, and probably will win a couple. The question to me is whether or not he's a 50-60+ assist guy.

70 points minimum. 35-40 goals, probably a similar amount of assists because who are his linemates going to be when hall inevitably misses his annual 20 games? Hopefully he gets some time with Reichel.

Crosby and Ovechkin are the only rookies to get 100+ points in their rookie seasons the past what... 30 years? It's not as easy as you think.

And the hawks will be bad again this season. He’s going to be stuck in the dzone many nights.

My expectations are high for Bedard, but 100 point season playing on this roster as a rookie would be insanity.

I´m not worried about Bedard´s rookie season point totals. I´m sure he will become really really good NHL-player eventually if he just stays healthy.

I don't think Bedard gets 100 pts his first year but 70+ sounds about right.

Bedard is not on Crosby or McDavid level yet but come on....he's about to turn 18 for goodness. I can see him reach that level in time. That one "fans" is really trying to downplay his ceiling and it's hysterical to me.

scoring has been up
west is bad
bedard playing top line mins and powerplay
if he doesn't get injured i think his point and goal total are going to surprise a lot of people

Crosby and Ovi have some of their top PP point seasons their rookie year. They got 100 pts because 05-06 the league gave out so many powerplays as well as 06-07.

Until there are more elite players on the Hawks it will be difficult to reach 100 points.A powerplay point man and a finisher for Bedards setups at least are needed.Hopefully someone takes a big jump up in development this season.Korchinski and Nazar are key.

So to clarify.....I don't doubt that Bedard is going to be a top 10 player in the league, but what I have to see to believe is the idea that he's going to be right there with McDavid. I'm not discounting the possibility I'm just not ready to go there until he proves it in the NHL.

I don't need him to be as good as Crosby or McDavid, I just want him to be the best player of the cap era after them.

A Kane with a better shot who plays at center or Matthews without the playoff disappearing act is what I'm ultimately hoping for with Bedard. Call that generational or not, I really don't give a f***.
