Sure, but not many on the Bulls, and the picking on other teams is tangibly thin right now. I'm not claiming he's a superstar, but nobody dislikes him and the alternative options either have loads of haters as well or have a low ceiling popularity due to also being on bad teams.
You said super popular. I said I don't think so.

Is Fields popular though? On average, I mean. He seems to have a lot of fans and haters that make me think he averages down a lot.

As for popular contenders... is anyone really super popular here other than maybe Dosunmu, and that's more of a scrappy hometown kid kind of right, right?
lol Ayo isn't even in the top 20 of most popular pro athletes in Chicago right now. He's at best the 4th most popular Bull being Deronzan, Lavine and Caruso.

Bedard is gonna be pretty popular in other aspects more than Fields. Good lookin kid. He, Korchinski, Nazar... those kids are gonna have alot of fun on the road down the line.

Anyway, back to Bedard, I feel like his size won't prevent him from playing center at all.
Ya the size thing has been way overblown. Ya ya a little short, but he is already a tank in the lower body. Has amazing balance and strength in his skating. Kid is only 17 and already 185, with his upper body still filling out. He may even grow an inch or 2 in height still. Even if not he will play at 5'10" and like 200 pounds when all is said and done. Also another aspect is the kid uses a much longer stick then normal for a player if his height, so it adds some to his reach.

If Fields is a top 10 QB, he'll be the biggest athlete in Chicago since peak Derrick Rose ... easily more popular than Kris Bryant / Anthony Rizzo / Toews / Kane. Chicago will always be a Bears town and we haven't had a good QB since Jim McMahon for a fleeting moment. If Fields ever leads the Bears to a Super Bowl, he'll be the biggest Chicago athlete since Michael Jordan.

As for Bedard, he has a chance to be far more popular than Toews and Kane. He has that charisma without the arrogance. His personality fits Chicago well.

Honestly I'd say Fields is going to be the biggest athlete in Chicago until he proves he can't be a franchise QB. As long as there's still a solid chance in the minds of the average Chicago sports fan that he could be that guy, he'll be the most talked about, most well-known in Chicago and it won't be particularly close, even if Bedard is a superstar year 1.

Cutler was huge and probably the biggest name of that time and wasn't a legit franchise QB except to BWC
