He's like Crosby, not very big, but built like an Ox.
Korchinski is the one I'm personally worried about wrt size, them tall lanky guys have a hard time putting on muscle and weight, def not concerned with Bedard, his frame seems pretty ideal for his height

So ripped that wearing his jersey probably caused you to break your keyboard in half

It broke from the bottom, somehow...

It's going to be nice to have a player on the roster that can consistently score from the top of the circle.

Kane and Toews used to be able to. Toews can't anymore and Kane does it once in awhile. Debrincat could. Sharp and Hossa could too in their hay day.

Bedard officially measured at 5'9.75...same height as me...
Amazingly he was leading at pull ups with 14...do not know if others doing that test after his session did better..
Still ...very string fir his size...But he was also reported battling some illness...not 109%...coughing during the fitness test.. So imagine his reduktsvif he wss 100%healthy!

Still ee gotta go Big at#19...

I just read an article that Connor Bedard is a big fan of Andrew Cristall. I guess that's one of his good buddies from Vancouver. He implied Cristall is an offensive genius.

I am not one who listens to players when they play GM ... not that Bedard is doing any of the sort here. However, I am curious about Cristall? Does he fit our system? I see that he's somewhere ranked around when we draft at 19 ... perhaps a spot or two higher. Note, Cristall is only 5'10" 165lbs. That's Patrick Kane's size when he came into the league. We do need bigger wingers.

Would Cristall make sense for the Hawks somewhere between the 13-19 range?

An excerpt from Craig Buttons' rankings

Here's an excerpt from Craig Buttons rankings. I'm not a big Button fan, but it's pretty much in line with what scouts are saying about Cristall.

“The brain is there, the hands are there, he’s really, really good in that regard,” said Button. “I’ve wrestled with him because I like him, but he’s not big and he’s not quick. The quickness and the speed is going to have to be developed.”

So, no, he doesn't fit with what the Hawks have stated they're looking for, high motor players with good wheels.

Here's what DP scouting says about Cristall:

Furthermore, his skating is contentious; while he is very agile and escapable, he lacks the explosiveness and top speed that skilled undersized NHLers often rely on. He doesn’t have the physical attributes to resist pressure and he doesn’t have the speed to avoid it altogether and these are problems that are already prevalent against major-junior level competition.

What would all of you that bought Bedard 98 jerseys do if he picks a different number?
He was wearing 98 at the combine... I like day of the lottery was, well he wore 16 at the WJC. But immediately saw how that's just tourney style, and know it's not a thing to even still think about. It's 98.

99 to 66. 87 to 97. 97 to 98. What would the next lineage be? 89?

His physique is jacked so much already that it makes me think there's not much more growth likely unless he gets taller - and that's OK. He can play his whole career 185-190 and be the player we all hope he will be.

I would think with his expectations, his production at the junior level, the hype, and the fact he will be a Blackhawk his jersey will be the number one selling jersey this upcoming season. Incredible for an 18 year old, I just hope its not too much for this kid. All signs point to him being able to handle it, incredible maturity for such a youngster. I can’t remember a kid coming into the NHL with quite as much weight on his shoulders as Bedard. Those who think we can just build through the draft I have to disagree with, this kid needs some help immediately, at least some offensive talent and protection.

I can’t see him not wearing #98 lol he’s worn 98 throughout his playing career and there’s a few players who already wear #98 in the NHL anyway. Sergachev, Pullyourharvey (at least when he was on the Oilers anyway)

Yea Connor looks like a finished product at 7% body fat built like that. Usually that would be a red flag but he’s good enough right now to be a 100 point guy in the nhl soooo…. No big deal. Exciting times
