With Teo out as well Kirk DHing or catching becomes less of a deal. We have 8 average to above average players healthy so one of Tapia, Zimmer, Collins, Heineman or whoever they call up has to start each game anyway. Kirk DHing and a bad catcher starting, or Kirk catching and Zimmer or Tapia starting isn't that much different.

They just need to get both Biggio and Espinal in there just about every day now that Jansen and Teo are out. Assuming Teo's out for a while
Just wait until we inevitably get Heineman at catcher and Zimmer in RF and Tapia at DH tonight.

The Jays have been shifting like mad men to start the season. 80.2% of their pitches thrown have had a shifted infield defense. The next highest are the Dodgers at 57.7%. They're also one of only three teams (Rays and Yanks are the others) to incorporate a 4th OFer, and they of course lead that too.

Raimel Tapia, 5 hole hitter in game 7 of the season. Montoyo just can't help himself.

At least Zimmer is in CF over Tapia.

Ummmmm, Tapia shouldn't be hitting 5th in a AA lineup let alone MLB. I can't even come up with a remote reason for it. I guess Montoyo was going to go Kirk 5th and then thought wow he's slow I can't having him blocking the basepaths in front of my fast outfielder who never gets on base. Not loving Springer DH day and Chapman full day off at the same time, but if Chapman needs a full day off I guess it doesn't matter when it happens

We really have the worst manager in MLB don't we........

That's not even nitpicking. That's genuinely shocking.

I think the responsibility has to be split 50/50 between he and Shapkins here. The latter left us with no bench with those late dumps of Grichuk and Mcguire. Instead of picking up a solid vet or two for some reason they went with a bunch of reclamation projects.

What if they plug Espinal in the 2 hole then move everyone down? Would that be better? Tapia shouldn't be hitting 5th, lol, come on. I think that Espi is good enough now that you can trust him higher up in the lineup.

TBH, Vlad should be hitting 2nd. Last night wasn't the first night he was left on deck in the 9th.

But Espinal should be 5th in that lineup. Or Kirk. I get that he's trying to balance out Lefties/Righties, but Tapia at 5 is brutal.

Your idea is better than mine, lol. Yea, I'd love to see that.

God dammit Charlie. Biggio should be in the lineup absolutely every game while both Jansen and Teo are out. If Kirk is DHing, and nobody is getting a full day off, then Espinal should be playing 2nd and Biggio should be playing RF. Biggio or Espinal sitting for Tapia or Zimmer will be criminal when it happens
