I'm not really a "fan" of Columbus, but your team really looks great for the future.

I'm gonna take a stab at next season, to see what you think. :)

Foligno-Jenner-Atkinson

Saad-Wennberg-Björkstrand

Hartnell-Dubinsky-Milano

Rychel-Karlsson-Anderson

Murray-Jones

Johnson-Savard

Werenski-Kukan

Bob
Korp

Am I way off? :)

3 lines, almost equally strong lines + a 4th who will without a doubt be as good as pretty much all 4th lines in the NHL - with some chemistry.

You're not way off. It looks like our projections. Except you've managed to lose Calvert (who's more effective than his stats would indicate). That and there is still a lot of dead salary you've got to figure out what to do with - Tyutin, Prout, Campbell, Boll, Clarkson.

I dare say it might be the consensus of the board that we don't have a lot of confidence in our GM to handle these sorts of bad contracts, especially given that he has signed most of these deals himself (including Prout just last week). You can expect most of these players to at least be on the 23 man roster, however much the team would benefit from pure subtraction.

Overall not a terrible lineup. There is quite the abundance of good second-line type players on all three scoring lines.

I thought about him, but who do you scratch/keep in the AHL to play him? :)

Milano or Rychel?

And yes, you could package a couple of the "second liners" and a pick, to upgrade into another true first-liner.

Or if you manage to shed some salaries, you can try to pick Louie Eriksson up through free agency. Though, he'll probably get 6-7 mill.

My opinion is unpopular, but from what I've watched of Milano live this year in Lake Erie, he doesn't have any business in the NHL right now. It seems like every time I see him, he's trying to make some fancy, selfish play in the offensive zone that turns into a turnover. It's like I'm watching Zherdev all over. (But as I said, I seem to be alone on this).

Anderson will be in the minors, just because of all the dead cap, and Rychel deserves better than wasting away on our 4th line with Boll/Clarkson/Campbell/etc, as they made him do earlier this year.

My ideal lineup would be

Saad Wennberg Bjorkstrand
Rychel Jenner Anderson
Calvert Dubinsky Atkinson
Hartnell Karlsson Foligno

Murray Jones
Johnson Savard
_______ Kukan (haven't seen enough of Werenski to let him have a spot)

Bobrovsky
Korpisallo

Anyway there is no real 4th line but instead we role 4 lines. Rychel had great chemistry with Jenner and Rychel has chemistry with Anderson. I think that line would be really hardworking and would be the energy line. Matt Duby and Cam have chemistry we all know what to expect from them. Saad Wenny Bjork seem to be putting up points so let's stick with it. Hartnell Karlsson Foligno is our worst line in my opinion but I think it would work fine. This is assuming we draft no one good enough to play in the NHL right now.

Put Kukan on the 3rd pair with Golo, make Werenski earn a call up from Lake Erie. Prout as 7th D. Just need to dump Tyutin.

Call-ups would be Werenski, Heatherington, Paliotta, and Falk if they re-sign him. John Ramage too. I guess that's not a horrible place to be in for organizational depth.

Anyone know how ready Gabriel Carlsson is to coming over?

If the jackets pick 4-5 do you think we could move the pick to EDM for Draisaitl? Maybe add a bit. They draft Chychrun.

But EDM will have the #1 pick, right? Do they also need the 4th/5th?

What about the 4th/5th pick + I don't know, pick a DMan (Savard? Prout? etc.) for RNH? Same scenario though, does EDM want two top 5 picks?

id rather have Draisaitl if we were to trade for an Edmonton Center (excluding McDavid of course)

^Don't know who is more "available" though. But Draisaitl's cap hit is much less. We can only afford RNH if they take back Tyutin or Savard, really.

Very close. I personally feel that Rychel will be moved in the off-season as will Prout. Yes, I know he just got a new contract but Kukans consistency (and absurd +/- rating) will make CBJ consider keeping him up full time.

Guys like Tytuin, McElheney, Campbell, Boll, and Borque should all be moved or cut. The only one I can truly see keeping around is Boll and that's simply because he's in the last year of his contact and I don't think we'd get squat for him. But, he'd be a constant healthy scratch.

CMac and Campbell are in the final year of their contracts.

Bourque...not worth a mention. He's done as a Jacket in two days. Nothing needs to be done there.

It wouldn't shock me if Rychel was packaged with another assert (Tyutin, Hartnell, pick, etc) for a major upgrade either at D or in the top-6.

If Edmonton wins the lottery (which we all know will happen), I would look to either acquire their pick, Draisaitl or RNH.

These offers are all dynamic based on what the return would be, but this is what I would offer to Edmonton.

1st OA (assuming EDM owns pick):
Our first (anywhere from 2-7) + Rychel. Edmonton will pick up additional assets and add some much needed grit to their lineup. They could also take Juolevi/Chychrun with the added pick.

RNH (this has a few different possibilities I guess):
RNH + Fayne for Rychel + Tyutin + Hartnell

Drai (the more intriguing possibility imo):
Draisatl for Rychel + our first. Maybe even add in Prout or Heatherington into this deal.

The rumors have been swirling about Colorado possibly shopping Matt Duchene in the offseason.

For what it's worth, both Sakic and Roy were teammates of Warren Rychel in Colorado. I have no idea if there's anything beyond that, and I'm certainly not about to suggest that this would have any real impact in any direction.
