My question is this...if attendance and season ticket sales are so horrible, why am I not able to get as close as i would like when I bought mine? If you check the website there isn't alot of available season ticket spots

For whatever reason they hold back a lot of seats that they do not let STHs have. My guess is that they hold them for Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster is a big part of the problem. What a ticket cost to buy from them vs STH cost or box office cost is crazy.

Well Imma come up tonight to Columbus to hangout with some friends and watch the game but we are gonna be going to the RBar I guess to watch it. It will be my first time at the RBar surprisingly after all the games I've been too.

Did you buy full season or partial?

Full...we had a half season in 217 this year, a full season in shoot twice end is only $400 more than what we paid for half this year

Can anyone explain the PSL, I was never offered one, not sure its worth it?

So you had a half season this year and upgraded to a full season for next year in the Upper End Attack Twice Zone (sections 206-214)?

I think there are a lot of season ticket holders in those sections because they are cheaper and good seats to watch the game. I think there's a misconception that most season ticket holders sit in lower bowl. I think almost half of the season ticket holders are located in the upper bowl because it's more affordable.

There's some changes going on in those sections for next year too. The CBJ may still be working them out with the current season ticket holders that sit in the old "Chill" sections. I think 210, and maybe 209 & 211 were the sections designated for former Columbus Chill season ticketholders. They got a real nice price cut on their season tickets, but the CBJ notified them that next year their tickets prices go up. So, I expect if those season ticket holders have to pay more, they may want option to change seats and the CBJ may be giving them some options to move around to better/lower seats in those sections.

Another possibility is that some of the seats are currently being used by partial season ticket holders, so they aren't available for every game.

In any case, the CBJ do offer a "select-a-seat" open house over summer and you are given a chance to reevaluate to see if they open better seats up once they know those being vacated.

Also, the PSL is a thing of the past. Original season ticket holders had to pay a "PSL Fee", which was a one time fee of about $750-$3,000 per seat just to become a season ticket holder. The fee was used to help pay for construction of the arena. It would be a barrier now for season ticket sales. I'm not aware of any benefits an original "PSL" full season ticket holder gets over a new full season ticket holder.

If I'm not mistaken, any Full STH, even new, should get priority for seat selection in a given section, even over current partial plan holders. Could be wrong, but I did not think partial plan holders were guaranteed the same seats year in year out depending on the Full STH situation.

Well..it sounded like he was picking the seats mid-season for next year...that's why I thought more may be available at open house after CBJ sort out who's partial vs full season...maybe give partial's an opportunity to buy their seats full for next season..

I will be discharging from the military this summer, and Columbus is one city we've considered relocating to. My wife and I will be flying into the area for a few days in May to check out there area. We have been to the city a few times, but it was mostly for CBJ games or to the zoo. Due to the size of the Columbus area, I was wondering if anyone can give me any thoughts or suggestions on neighborhoods and nearby towns. We have a baby so crime is important. Thank you.

I would recommend any of the suburban areas really, especially on the north side. Dublin, Worthington, Westerville, even Lewis Center are all pretty safe when it comes down to it. Certain pockets are better than others.

Do you know specifically what you are looking for in a neighborhood or community? I know for my situation, we wanted something that was within walking distance to a nice "downtown" area for restaurants and things so we settled on a place on the old section of Worthington.

Dublin/Powell/Shawnee Hills is a great area for a family with a small child. Incredible schools, close to the zoo, Zoombezi Bay water park, Muirfield golf course, Highbanks park, Scioto River, and extremely quiet crime-wise. I wouldn't have liked living here before my daughter came along (would have preferred something a bit more urban like German Village or Short North), but now it feels like home. Very comfortable, very low key, and family friendly.

I live in Dublin, it is extremely safe here, have never had a problem. The best thing about Dublin is everything is within a few minutes drive.

Just picked up a pair of tickets for the playoffs in 203 6th row! These are for my kids, we reserved our "regular" seats about a month ago.
:handclap:
I hope the STHs grab them up while the presale is open. It's one of the nice opportunities of being a sth.

Now, just make it happen boys!

Depending on your price range, the suburbs around the north 1/2 of 270 is your best bet, IMO. I grew up and lived in Westerville for 28 years, I can tell you that area is great. Also on the northeast side is New Albany and Gahanna are both pretty nice places to live with good school districts. On the east side (where I currently live) there is Reynoldsburg and Pickerington (both good as well).

Went to my account to look at additional playoff tickets this morning since the presale is under way, but so far they aren't showing up as an option on my account. For some reason, only next year's ticket plans are available to me for purchase. Is any other full STH having this issue? Contacted my rep and am waiting for him to get back with me. We will see what the issue is.
