Columbus Blue Jackets 1000th Game 1/23/14

They did a preseason game at the Nutter Center in Dayton that year. I didn't go but they showed it on public access.

I did not know that.... my first game was a preseason in Nationwide... we were so excited it was like a regular season game....

btw, it was the first and last NHL preseason game I attended.. gave away all other's..

Great way to end game 1000, hopefully this a is sigh of what to expect in the next 1000.

As far as memories go, all I like to take out of the first 1000

1. 08/09 - Especially the game that sealed our playoff spot
2. Zherdev end-to-end
3. Nash sick between the legs
4. Our streak last year and our streak right now
5. Ray Whitney - screw you Dougie
6. The invention of our third jersey's, one of the best in the league

Other than that, I'm ready to move on

I coincidentally re-watched #2 yesterday and wasn't as impressed as I'd remembered...

Yes. My wife and I went to that game. Watched the fans litter the ice with plastic beer bottles, shaking my head in disbelief. I bet the NHL had some second thoughts that night

Was that the first preseason game? I remember a game when around 200 brown Labatt Blue plastics got tossed, a guy in front of me got called out by the authorities because he tossed one, the dope didn't even make the ice, he hit a guy in the 4th row...... awesome time!!!

Season 1 5-2 win over SJS. My first ever game, Robert Kron missed a penalty shot.
David Ling's one hit wonder fight against Dereck Morris.
The Hockey News cover that read "The Amazing Nick and Rick Show."
The Fedorov, Nash, Zherdev line dismantling the Penguins, plus getting in a line brawl.
Matt Calvert hat trick.
Nash hat trick in Detroit.
Ray Whitney, Espen Knutsen, and David Vyborny.

Those were my exact same thoughts. The guy next to me was freaking out thinking that the bottles were made of glass

The first game vs Chicago (this is gonna be easy! Oh, not it's not!)
Geoff Sanderson scoring with 8 seconds left in OT to beat the Bruins
Manny Malhotra's Bobby Orr-like goal vs St. Louis.
The second playoff game at Nationwide (I don't even remember the first)
Attending the first day of training camp last season to welcome the new CBJ after the lockout.
Attending the Draft in NJ with my teenage son who finally took an interest in hockey.
And yes, that Nashville game.

And despite everything in this thread, it feels like we're JUST getting started.

I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for the late night Anaheim comeback. Feeling so bloody beaten down and then getting that first goal. And then the second one and thinking that at least we made a game of it. And then we tied it up and then went ahead and I was going bat**** crazy. Then the penalty shot stop and the win. I'm not sure I got any sleep that night.
