He's a sub .900 goalie for 5 years... he's bad... Samsanov is bad too, but there is at least upside, was a .919 goalie last year.

Samsonov has upside but you don't know which version will show up any given night. His unpredictability makes him dangerous.

An .895 SV% veteran goalie on 25 shots? It's a little over 3 goals so you know what kind of shot suppression you need to work on and how many goals you need to score to get a point, or win a game.

I remember when teams would take runs at other teams or drop the gloves for being embarrased at home

But we dont' do that stuff around here

They need to have the attitude of "I hate to lose" to get angry.

Their shoulders drop as soon as the offensive blue line is well protected not giving them easy entries forget about showing any kind of emotion and get angry

I disagree. Tonight is not just goaltending. Why ruin two goalie's confidence when no one decided to show up or give a single shit?

As a player, it would be a tall order to try and mount a comeback knowing what your goalie is up to. Just flush it.

I blame the management for holding on to our goalie coach for too long, but drafting/trading/signing one seems like it is not an easy task. I actually think our goalie prospects are good now too.
That’s might be true but we also had a few wasted goalie pickups. Mrazek and Murray come to mind

When’s the last time we came back from losing 5-0?
Probably never

On December 30, 1989, the Maple Leafs staged their largest comeback for a win in their team history. The Maple Leafs were down 6–1 to the Bruins, coming back with six unanswered goals to defeat the Bruins 7–6 in overtime.

I just don't know who you try to pickup... good goalies don't go on the market... drafting seems to be your best bet

Goalie is a tricky one to figure out.

They show barely any emotion. They are here for the $$$$. They get that no matter what, so what is there to be upset about I guess.

For sure. Hopefully woll gets healthy soon or it might get really ugly

You know what you're getting with Jones... that is the issue too.

I don't think there is a good answer between either of them at this point... Woll is the clear starter, but I think Samsanov has potential to steal more games than Jones.

some see this game as negative thing but could be a wake up call

but again samsonov gave at least 2 weak, this goalie is just so inconsistent. Can look like an MVP and next game looki g like an AHLer

This team playing its worst hockey against a bottom feeder? Who had that on their bingo card? f***ing embarrassing.
Actually with Leaf history on our side, you could see this set up game coming. Leafs like someone else mentioned cannot come up with a follow through game. They never treat these games as monumental opportunities, rather a game where they can relax and coast. No killer instinct. They won't go far on talent alone. We were 4 points behind Boston, why? Because they beat us and put in the effort. We don't.

Who is the broadcasters doing highlights? This is the worst, absolutely laziest ever on an NHL game.
