At <$2m he'd definitely be valuable to some team. That team isn't the Avs though as he's not the type of player who is going to fill a team need seeing as he's not good at face-offs, isn't a good PK'er, and doesn't bring any physicality.
He's a useful complimentary scoring forward, albeit extremely streaky, but that isn't the type of player playoff teams typically look for to solidify their middle 6.
