I'm not sure the OP is an Avs fan and most of their posts seem to be aimed at stirring the pot. That's probably the reason why Girard is included in this trade, not because there's any logical reason for him to be moved.
Yah I can agree I probably shouldn't have responded myself. Trading a stud Dman on a great contract for depth should have been my first clue. Cheers

Are you actually referring to Kraken beeing as good a team than Avs? On Avs Donskoi was a contributer. I bet the player hasnt gotten worse, just the team around him. At <2M Donskoi is quite valuable. You wouldnt have posted shit like that a year back,.
At <$2m he'd definitely be valuable to some team. That team isn't the Avs though as he's not the type of player who is going to fill a team need seeing as he's not good at face-offs, isn't a good PK'er, and doesn't bring any physicality.

He's a useful complimentary scoring forward, albeit extremely streaky, but that isn't the type of player playoff teams typically look for to solidify their middle 6.

He also signed with the Avs on the back of some great analytics in San Jose, but proceeded to be one of the worst possession players statistically on the Avs two years in a row. Why would Colorado go back to a player they already know doesn't work well in their system?

Lol yes I would. Last year Donskoi as a centrepiece for Girard is still laughable. We already have plenty of “depth” that doesn’t score goals.
