All situations tonight xGF was 5.38 - 2.47 for the Avs.

Gotta keep playing like this at home. Winnipeg cannot skate with us.
That’s weird considering I’ve heard alot of Jets and other fans saying we got swept in the regular season and were outscored 17-4 :sarcasm:

Jokes aside I love how our team have been playing so far. They’re clearly the better it’s not even debatable. I hope they show up like this Friday my first ever Avs game in Denver !! So hyped with the home crowd. It will be very different compared to seeing them in Montreal or Ottawa. Let’s go !!

Get ready for a quiet home crowd and people yelling for penalties that don’t know the rules of the game. You will also hear everybody around you talking about the basketball and football teams.

Enjoy!!!!

After a lot of games (including plenty as a neutral cause I just like hockey) at Rogers Arena, I don’t think Canucks fans have any idea what a penalty is either

Good for Georgiev. Pretty much his last chance to keep the starter role and he came through.

I think it’s unlikely to last, but I’ll be rooting for him. It would be a great story.

As for the rest of the team, solid workman like road effort. The second line continues to put in work. The depth really shined in this one. Colton and Wood are back to playing the way they did in the 1st half of the season.

Need more consistent play from Mack and Mikko, particularly Mikko. Hope he can regain form on home-ice.

Makar is in Smythe form. When I see the terminator look from him pre-game, it’s always a good sign.

So far the depth has saved us, which is amazing. We got players who can elevate their game in the playoffs. Super important!

You can tell a fan's team hasn't been deep in the playoffs for awhile when they bring up regular season records.

I’m not crowning us as the winners right now but it reminds me so much of the Calgary series back then. When we had no chance after being swept in the regular season and were the 8th seed. Playoffs is different that’s for sure !

The boys seemed incredibly happy for him last night. If those guys putting it all on the line can move past his trash game 1 and be there for him, can't we as fans?

That's gotta suck

At my last game, which was the epic comeback OT win against the Penguins, 3 guys behind me spent the entire game talking about Broncos free agency.

Also, since we got a delay of game penalty, they would yell anytime the puck went out off the Pens or anything “that’s bullshit! They called that on us before!” not realizing the Pens put it over the glass in the neutral zone, or it deflected, etc. It was painful.

I guess I’m spoiled living in Toronto where, while the fans are super biased, they at least know the rules and are into the game.

That sucks. The only game I’ve gone to in Denver was banner raising night so probably a very different group but that crowd was electric and a lot of fun. The only other buildings I’ve seen games in though are the 3 California teams and the library that is Rogers Arena so it was a huge step up in atmosphere. Well Rogers gets loud about whining over anyone breathing on a Canuck (Manson should be kicked out of the league apparently) and one guy at a Blues game once who really did not like Oshie

Props to Kings fans, Sharks fans and Avs fans though cause people were really friendly at those games. Other Avs fans at Canucks games are a blast. I’ve long had a goal to see every team play and got through about 20 of them before moving (it’s rarely worth the trip for me to see any team but the Avs now) and at all the neutral games, Canucks fans are not a friendly bunch and I’ve gotten a lot of weird looks for even saying hello to people

Yeah they have a legit 2nd line that can shut down a top line now, so the bottom 6 lines can actually be used as bottom 6 lines. Colton and Wood are simply chaos machines if they had to be a matchup line it would be a total disaster... but if you ask them to match against a middle 6 line and just play simple, gay porn hard hockey, they can be hugely impactful. Then you have another chaos machine line that has the skating to do it for 10-12 minutes. There will be a point where Colton/Wood/Duhaime does something insanely dumb and takes a major penalty for going too far... it may cost a game, but that will be out weighted by the contributions elsewhere. Just getting one line right, letting the 3rd line be a 3rd line, and some tweaks on the 4th makes the forwards incredibly tough to deal with.
Yeah that 3rd line is money during playoffs. Can imagine if we had LOC with them in these playoffs? Man that 3rd line was great until he got hurt.

Nice to see Kiviranta chipping in. And the unfortunate circumstance of Georgiev getting so much attention due to his fluctuating performance is that it steals attention from someone like Miles Wood. Tone setter. But also two goals in two games. Who saw that coming?

I one time went to watch a Panthers game at Sunrise vs Carolina and the guy in front of me called Carolina for offside when they were still in the defensive zone and were breaking the puck out of their own blue line lol. The guy was like "WTF, his teammate was already past the blue line!!". I laughed.

Crazy that he's a super religious guy and doesn't actually like violence. Imagine he enjoyed it like MacDermid does. He'd kill people every shift for fun.

I think Josh likes violence just fine. He snaps and sees red multiple times a season. This was his MO before coming to the Avs too.

You can tell he likes to fight, and not just that, but likes to hurt guys too, because he never turns down an opportunity, and always seems to get in extra shots after it goes to the ice and the other guy is vulnerable.
