Eric was on last night's post-game, so I think it was just the new guy that was let go. I think they're expecting AJ to appear more often on pods to replace said new guy and if you read into his tweets he's not too happy about it.

You need someone with some personality on a show like that to make it somewhat entertaining for anyone that's interested in watching. That's why AJ is there again.

Along with that comes some hot takes, or a personality that may rub some people the wrong way, or from the sound of it, some obnoxiousness from the guy that had that role before.

Despite it being a shitty move to fire someone before the holidays, that guy isn't doing himself any favors by letting all future employers know how he'll handle things publicly if they have to let him go too.

Is S E P H one of the 4-letter acronym companies?
In a world seemingly governed by choice and democracy, an unseen force lurked in the shadows, orchestrating events with the precision of a maestro. This enigmatic group was known only by the acronym "S E P H." It has transcended the boundaries of nations into the very fabric of global politics. S E P H is a secret society composed of the world's most influential leaders, scholars, and strategists, bound by a single purpose: to steer humanity toward a future through dark means.

The story begins in an opulent conference room situated in a hidden fortress deep within the Swiss Alps. The walls were lined with screens displaying real-time feeds of world events—political upheavals, economic crises, protests, and wars. This was the nerve centre of S E P H. As the representatives took their seats, a sense of gravity settled over the room. Each member knew they held the fate of nations in their hands.

At the head of the table sat Eloise Renaud, a formidable diplomat known for her sharp, cold-hearted strategies. She held the key to most governments and had a talent for manipulating narratives. "Welcome, esteemed members of S E P H. Today, we stand at a crossroads. The world is unravelling, but it is a necessary chaos for our greater vision."

A young strategist named Aidan, fresh blood in the ancient society hesitated. "Are we not risking too much? What if we lose control? History has shown that the chaos we sow can spiral beyond our grasp."

Eloise leaned forward, her gaze piercing. "That is precisely why we exist, Aidan. To control the chaos. Every conflict we instigate, and every leader we guide, creates a path towards the utopian future we envision, a Cupless Edmonton Oilers franchise. If the world needs a war to unite against a common enemy, then a war it shall have. If the people cry for change, we will provide them with a leader who offers false hope—but who ultimately serves our purpose."

As the discussions ensued, the members of S E P H voted on which nations to destabilise next, all under the guise of democracy and freedom. They debated vital questions: Which politician would be elevated to power? Which economic markets would be crushed to provoke revolution? Which countries would they bring to the brink of war?

In a dimly lit corner of the room, a screen blinked to life, revealing a map of the globe marked with red and green dots, each representing a conflict or political upheaval they had orchestrated. It was daunting, yet exhilaration buzzed in the air—this was the brethren's magic: to manipulate and sway, to act like puppeteers with the world as their stage.

But actions have consequences. As the society pushed their agenda, unexpected variables began to emerge. A grassroots movement ignited in a small nation, fueled not by ideology but by sheer human spirit for genuine freedom. It quickly became a wildfire across continents, undermining S E P H’s carefully laid plans.

Eloise watched the movement's momentum grow with increasing concern. "These people are not simply pawns. They are echoing something deeper—a thirst for authenticity. We cannot allow this to spiral. We must act swiftly, lessen their resolve."

Aidan felt a pang of unease. “But at what cost? If we crush them, we’ll only validate their cause and create martyrs. Perhaps we could use the movement to our advantage? We could infiltrate and steer them, making them unwitting allies until we achieve our goals.”

His proposal sparked a debate, each fam grappling with the potential consequences of their next move. Yet the clock was ticking; the world was starting to notice the invisible strings of influence, and their secret was at risk of exposure. After a sleepless night filled with frantic discussions, the ambitious and cunning minds of S E P H reached a decision. They would unleash a counter-movement, crafting a new, refined narrative to draw the public back under their sway. They would exploit the raw energy of the people's movement, directing it toward their vision.

In the coming weeks, they executed their plan with surgical precision. Under the guise of support, they funded parallel organizations, channelling genuine enthusiasm into calculated paths. The movement—that once threatened to expose the corporation of shadows—was now transformed into a controlled revolution.

As summer turned to fall, the world again felt the heavy hand of S E P H guiding its course. From behind the veil, they watched as battles were fought, leaders were born, and lives were altered, all while they maintained their hidden influence across the globe.

And yet, in the distance, Aidan glimpsed the flicker of discontent among the people—unpredictable, fierce, and raw. Deep in his heart, he understood that S E P H was becoming a double-edged sword. They were protectors of humanity, yet also puppeteers in a world yearning for authenticity.

As he pondered this, he could only wonder: Could a society that thrives in darkness ever truly bring forth the light? The line between guiding and controlling was blurring, and the fate of S E P H hung suspended in the balance of the world's uncertain future.

With every move, they played a dangerous yet essential game. Only time would reveal whether their ambitious vision would lead to salvation or destruction.

And so, the saga of S E P H continues, cloaked in secrecy, steering the world through the shadows for the greater good of humanity.

So...

Yesterday's DNVR podcast was AJ and Rudo alone....and Rudo said it was a new show and needed a name (and that no, it wouldn't be called "the AJ and Rudo show")

Both acted like nothing happened and didn't explain why AJ was there nor why the 2 other guys were missing.

Is there an official announcement about who got fired? I f***ing hate it when stuff like that happens and everyone is acting like it's not the listener's business to know what's going on.

Not that i'm a huge fan of DNVR, Rudo did indicate on X that "the AJ and Rudo show" podcast was pre-recorded before the change.

Although no official announcement, Rudo did give his thoughts to the situation towards the end of the podcast with E Lacroix the following day..

I'm fairly certain that Lacroix does NOT work for free.

Only guy I know of who got let go at DNVR is Gizmo, I was curious as to whether or not EL was let go but it appears not to be the case.

I'm still catching up on the 32 Thoughts pod along with finishing the audiobook I've had to renew like eight times, so it might be a minute before I can sample whatever DNVR has to offer.

EDIT: Oh, so they DID let him go? Eesh. I wouldn't mind him going back to Altitude and replacing Yan.

All Eric did was heavy breath in the background and spent 1-2 minutes repeating and droning on in a long winded way of repeating Rudo. Does that bother anyone else lol?
Eric Lacroix is unwatchable and unlistenable. That's not a personal slight to him, some people have no presenting charisma and he's one of them. He doesn't know how to project concise thoughts, instead it's a stream of rambling consciousness. He has good insight and fun stories but he needs some public speaking training or something. Id gladly listen to his stories if he could cut out the rambling.

Good dude. Great background. Poor presenter.

Rudo over enunciates. AJ over talks. And Eric is a thought salad. Who is worse? Meghan was their best contributor by far in recent years. Now she’s gone.

EL speaks a lot to say very little. He'll go on and on and in the end you're like you could have said that in one sentence. He'd make a good politician.

Dumbfounding that that they let Gizmo and Meghan go and keep . . . the Coach Prime boot-lickers on the DNVR CU Buffs podcasts. Apples and oranges, football and hockey, I know, but Gizmo and Meghan are at least objective journalists. Gizmo was -is - a bit of an acquired taste, but the guy knows his stuff.

The DNVR CU Buffs guys are just Coach Prime propagandists with nary a discouraging word. Those people are embarrassing and its shocking they get press credentials. I'm a CU alum and a fan and I find those people just insufferable. AllCity isn't exactly covering themselves in glory here.

DNVR probably couldn't keep Meghan if they wanted to.

That girl is going places in the hockey world, I'm sure of it.

True that. Meghan's a talent. But she ended up with Jesse M on Guerilla Sports.

Lateral move at best, IMHO. But DNVR is getting pretty rough - Lacroix has experience and inside knowledge, but man, is he tough to listen to.

She needs more confidence and to simply speak a bit louder. It's one of the things all the top women in sports media have; massive personalities and loud voices. Compare to LG who is all over MLB network, NHL Network, etc. Huge personality and commanding voice.

Definitely knows her stuff and I enjoy her variety of questions, not the usual crap.

She would do well to spend some time around LG or even LJ and learn how to project better.
