Obviously Biz shouldn't have challenged six people to a fight by himself. That only works in Jackie Chan movies. But he's a hothead with machismo to spare, so he got in the middle of it anyway, and fortunately was able to get away without serious injuries. Street fights are a dumb idea when it's one on one, six on one is asking to spend the rest of your life communicating by blinking Morse code.
Biz was defending the harassed staff and didn't expect the guys to actually throw down. But yeah, he is very lucky to come out of that relatively unscathed. Some of those attempted kicks were brutal.

The group apparently are "Irish Travellers" which is something I wasn't remotely aware of.

This story just keeps getting weirder.

They were Travellers? Who decided to go golfing? Then got kicked out of a golf clubhouse for throwing punches at a waitress? Then started harassing the floor staff at a local restaurant, because they wouldn't serve them drinks? Then got into a fight with a broadcaster/former NHLer, and chased him down in the parking lot?

I'm gonna need a mini doc on these guy's entire day stat.

I've been saying for years now that I don't understand how DNVR can generate enough money to be able to have this many people on the payroll. It made no sense.

Doesn't sound like AJ was one of the guys that got laid off.

Spano defending the layoffs before Xmas because they get paid through January is laughable. That’s not the point jackass.
When is a good time to lay people off? Frankly Id rather see it implode and shut down. That whole operation is a joke. The talented people there will find jobs, the blowhards hopefully get what's coming to them and learn from it

Wait, he's criticising the company that he is currently working for? Not a good marketing sign for the parent DNVR company here. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets the next axe, this is very Kaapo Kakko type of talk.

Apparently CHGO got absolutely gutted--IIRC that branch was off to a really rough start, I think they had to fire someone right off the bat for threatening violence or something.

That's not remotely accurate, he's just upset that some friends and colleagues lost their jobs, I don't see anything in there where he's even indirectly criticizing his employer. Kakko on the other hand refused even a smidge of accountability and instead said "There are shittier players on the team than me who should've been sent to the press box, but they decided to pick on the youngster." Not even close to being the same thing.

I really feel bad for Craig Morgan. Got wooed by The Athletic, got laid off by them, went independent with a Hockey Now site, then got wooed over to PHNX, and now got the axe there.

Spano always struck me as a bit of an odd character--I'm not sure what to make of him. I haven't even listened to the DNVR pod since AJ left so I have no idea what the new guy was like, guess I don't have to find out.

What exactly is the business model of these four letter city acronym sports companies? They can't be keeping the lights on with subscriptions? Do they own the bar they broadcast from? Is that business model?

So...

Yesterday's DNVR podcast was AJ and Rudo alone....and Rudo said it was a new show and needed a name (and that no, it wouldn't be called "the AJ and Rudo show")

Both acted like nothing happened and didn't explain why AJ was there nor why the 2 other guys were missing.

Is there an official announcement about who got fired? I f***ing hate it when stuff like that happens and everyone is acting like it's not the listener's business to know what's going on.
