News Article: Colorado Avalanche Media Coverage Part VI

Ryker spent, like, half the game trying to galaxy brain Georgiev's perfomance last night, even going so far as to say NONE of the goals he had let in at that point were bad, that first one was just a "bad bounce" off his blocker.

Ugh.

Either he's made a conscious choice to try and be a lot nicer or someone at Altitude told him to spare the rod now that's in the "nice guy" Peter McNab spot. Which is precisely the worst thing they could have done because Rycroft got the job full time precisely BECAUSE he ripped into the team when they played badly.

There's something quite patronising about the coverage when they try defend stuff like that. Yeah it's a weird bounce but it's a routine save that any professional goalie should be making. If you try and explain it away or justify it then anyone listening who's ever seen a hockey game before thinks you're an idiot, and anyone watching a hockey game for the first time now thinks the sport is ridiculous because it so obviously shouldn't be going in.
 
George Is amazing and just look at this. He’d have the best stats in the league if it wasn’t for those 45 bad bounces his GAA would be under 2 and his sv% would be over 930. Avs are so lucky to have a starting goalie of his caliber.

Ryker on air is definitely not the same guy he used to be. Before when he was the between period analyst, he was much harder on the Avs. Lacroix and the new girl as the between period analyst, were also much harder on the Avs than Ryker was. Calling out Bo and George. It has to be a formula that Altitude has put together.

Wait a second...this could actually kind of suck. If they are moving ESPN's NHL coverage to this new standalone app, that would take it off ESPN+ and the Disney Bundle. Would suck to have to subscribe to yet another package.

I happen to love ESPN+ just the way it is. Great coverage of NHL, MMA, 30 for 30, even some of the original movies are really good. I currently get this all for "free" because my wife likes to take naps on the weekends listening to Kim Possible and Perry the Platypus. The world works in mysterious ways my friends.

That would suck, but I'm already paying for Fubo, so for me it would just be moving my sub over.

I'm very happy for Jenny and it's cool that women are starting to get opportunities like this but holy shit what terrible timing...she gets to call Athletics games their final season in Oakland?

Then again for some inexplicable reason people in Oakland continue to root for the frickin' Raiders, so...

For some reason Twitter always shows me their stuff and I think they may have started out as kind of a clearinghouse for bad media but as of now they cover a lot of other stuff too. But your name is your brand and for better or worse you are kind of stuck with it. Kind of like how we are still saying Twitter.

Also kudos to her, I don't know who she is but I read she's done a lot over the years. Hopefully she'll get to stay in the Bay.

People there still root for the Raiders? From everything I've seen and read, fans there have moved on and no longer care for the Vegas version.

:laugh:Man, I'm halfassing it today. I clicked on the link, saw Rockies in the title, there was a big video at the very top and I clicked on it. They started talking about Jenny leaving the Rockies for the A's and didn't even read the title of the article above it.
 
Maybe I am super late to the party, but what happened to Fox Sports Rocky Mountain? I thought that was a pretty big channel, even for a regional one.
