A young guy with money? I would guess he scored.
im chalking up the slow start to lack of TC, pre-season... however it's not like these are super unfamiliar players he's played with as most of the year he spent with Names, and last year he started wit Ehlers (who missed TC too and had a bit of a slow start). I was hoping for him to light it up following his mini hold-out and all that. ofc only 3 games in and the entire top-6 hasn't scored a goal, i am expecting a "get-right" game for our top-6 vs SJS and Perfetti should be a benefactor.

Would like to be wrong, but I’m seeing from Perfetti exactly what we’ve seen in his first few years. Slow thinking, moving and not very physically adaptive. I hope he develops. The bridge contract was the smart move. He needs to show more. Its not like he hasn’t been given the opportunity and the linemates.
Not sure if he will ever be a fast player in terms of playing fast or burst frequency. I am sure there's tons of productive players of similar paces of play as him. I have the nhl edge data dump actually and was going to see how different fwd point tiers compare in terms of top speed and burst frequency.
Idk about slow thinker though, I also disagree with elite thinker/IQ that ppl bring up.
I do agree he needs to show more and has been put in position - for the most part - to be productive. Obviously last year he had some time in the 4th and in the PB but was trending down in production from Dec onward.
I think if they could've gotten a long term deal done they should've went that route. I think most have the projection that he'd out perform a long term deal say in the 5M range. However, it's obviously not my money and the Jets may have had different ideas.

Its why using 3 games to form an opinion is short sighted. One big game and he's up to a ppg pace on the year. Clearly that won't continue either but it's what happens when you deal I such small samples.

The game last night was an obvious get right opportunity for this team's top 6 offense, and looks like u got that.

No points last night but I thought he had another good game. It looks like he’s got an extra step this year.
He's also noticeably stronger. He's not getting pushed around much.
You can tell He's comfortable off the puck now. He's taking the right lines and forcing bad decisions and turnovers all over the ice.
One thing that second line is now doing really well is using their speed and smarts to disrupt on the forecheck and its leading them to being much more then a rush line. They now have a cycle and zone possession game to go with it and it's opening up more looks and chances.
Even if that line isn't scoring they can be trusted to keep things to the outside in their end and will have a lot of offensive zone time.
GP-15 G-4 A-9 Pts-13 TOI-14:17 with the team off to an amazing start and Coles numbers are just fine.
Everything is going well if it’s not broke don’t fix it. Arniel has the guys playing solid 2 way hockey.
Then best players are playing their best hockey. Would like to see Cole eventually get more than under 5 min of TOI in a period. Also his PPTOI is 1:23/Gfor a PP guy his whole career could boost those totals to a pt a game. But you can’t argue how the team is playing and hope they continue.
Some on here don’t think he is going to accomplish much but some confidence and trust in his coach goes a long way for a young player.
He is not a4th line grinder never will be. But love the Jets and team success triumphs over anything, Go Jets!!

Yup, looks like Bone's handling of Cole last year was EXACTLY what he needed to spur on his development

I have to say that I'm very encouraged with Koal's progression on the ice especially the last few weeks, much more confident, stronger and is handling the opposition physical play much better this year.
I agree that Perfetti looks faster and stronger, and he's starting to make more plays. I wonder if he might develop along the lines of Reinhart... that would be a dream scenario. Both are very smart and skilled. Reinhart is a bit bigger and had to develop strength and speed to maximize his potential.
I still think that line might be better with a big, fast C to drive the forechecking and back checking and open things up a bit. I'd be interested to see how Kupari might fit there.

I was thinking about the Reinhart comp a while ago. Very similar playing styles and short comings entering the league. It took Sam a while to really grow into his body and dominat.
No clue if Cole can hit as high as what Sam is doing now but I think we are seeing a similar development arc and he'll continue to improve as he adds strength and quickness.
I do agree that a speedy forechecker may work on that line, but as is the line is functioning quite well and they are using more positioning and timing to force turnovers.
Yep, but, to afford a centre like that they’d have to give him ehlers money in long term as you can’t afford two really expensive players on your second line or you become Toronto
This comparable got me thinking and I wanted to look back and see because it feels right. I think there are a lot of similarities to their games and their success in the CHL and with Team Canada before arriving in the NHL as well as the early years Draft +3 and 4. I do expect Cole to to outpace Reinharts draft +5, 6 and 7 years.

Rhino played for the Sabres and it is no coincidence he started putting up more points when he was traded to Florida.
I thought of that and you are right, but he was also was playing significantly more minutes per game and on PP1 most of the time.
Some guys just take longer to find their footing and their ability to play at their best in the best league in the world, which is what happened with Reinhart.
I think Kupari is too much of a blackhole for offense to move him to the #2C position. Even this season which looks like a bit of a breakout for him, he still only has 2 points in 14 games. Last season he had 1 in 28 games.
