GREAT reply.I was just trying to give you the benefit of the doubt.

Best term for both sides is 6 years. Then at 27, they can negotiate another contract for any term as the highest would only take him to 34. Or if at 27, Habs want to part, well they got good term out of him and he gets to hit on a big payday. I'm thinking the AAV will be somewhere between 6-7M as the cap is predicted to go up sooner rather than laterThis is based off of nothing but I’ll admit, I’m materially concerned that Caufield being an American is signalling toward some sort of hesitation about signing an 8+ year contract in Montreal. Yes, his dad is Canadian, but I hope this gets done sooner than later and I’d be very disappointed to see some sort of 4~ year contract signed.
I hope your league doesn't count +/-Drafted him in fantasy maybe 3 rounds too early.
Didn't care. Lol
He's going to score 35 with his eyes closed.

My pool is mostly Habs fans so I took 0 chances lolI'm in a pool with almost all leaf fans and got him in the 15th round of the draft.
Ahhh you just worry about Laine's +/- mr. COMMISHI hope your league doesn't count +/-
in all seriousness, Caufield is a great fantasy pick this year I really think he can score 40+ as soon as this year. Best goal scorer we have had in quite some time that's for sure
Probably makes sense for both parties as the habs have cap weirdness short term and he will get 1st line and pp galore until he signs.Caufield's agent is Pat Brisson. So it wouldn't surprise me if Pat is the one a little on the patient side feeling confident Caufield will have a break out season and drive up his contract value.
Generational height tooCaufield is elite scorer, elite playmaker, elite at skating and elite at hands. This guy is elite.
Before pre-season I was thinking of 40ish to be his ceiling this season, having seen him every pre-season game and tonight… He looks a lot faster and willing to engage. He’s getting 50 this year.
If he scores 72 I’ll streak down St-Catherine’s streetI called 72 Gs. 70 more to go.
Not worried. He is not Gaudreau or Tkachuk. Montreal is a much better city than Calgary (I live here). This is based off of nothing but I’ll admit, I’m materially concerned that Caufield being an American is signalling toward some sort of hesitation about signing an 8+ year contract in Montreal.
