J McCann and Caufield are two guys who are in the top 10 in NHL scoring but have the min/game some of the others have. They both are also scoring at a high level at 5/5 as well.

Top guys at 5/5 are McCann, Hughes, Pastrnak, Caufield, Thompson, Crosby, Horvat, Robertson. If the Habs had a better PP, Caufield would be right up there for the Rocket. He's close now but would be closer.

Caufield has 48 goals in his last 81 games with MSL. Getting 50 this season will be tough but he's on pace to make it interesting.

What does this warrant for a contract?
* 0.88 pts/game with 48 goals over his last 81 games
* 0.82 pts/game with 26 goals this season (44 games)

Basically 70 pts and 45+ goal pace. That is very close to J Norris's production before he got his 8x $7.95M contact.

Boldy just got a 7x7 considering other comparable like Norris I think getting CC at 7.875 may be doable now he'll even if it's 8 it thats fine by me.
Came to say the same. If Boldy got 7, Cole gets around 8 IMO. Could even argue for more. Would love if he signed the Suzuki contract.

He’ll come in around the Suzuki contract, I don’t see him costing more than 8.5m.

He’s the most dynamic player we’ve had since Subban and the most dynamic forward since Kovalev.

Idk boys I think Caufield camp will try to get paid. Why wouldn't he?

American born players are scarier than good old canuck boys who play for the logo on the front not the name on the back :naughty::naughty::naughty::sarcasm::sarcasm::sarcasm:

I mean caufield is a team player but its really going to be up to his agent and family/people close to him.

The agents..............tend to just crucify the Canadian teams..............

IF Caufield gets 40+ goals, offer him a 2 year $5.75M deal (AAV $2.875M).

If he continues show respeck and improve over those two years, low-ball him again and bring him to arbitration.
I see what you did there................lol
