Are you being sarcastic? His shot % is like half of what it was since MSL came in.
He’s still obviously got a wicked release. Look at the few goals he has scored. Bringing up the shoulder injury would suggest that something is physically stopping him from performing. He’s in a drought. It doesn’t look physical at all.

He badly needs line mates that can create some space for him, he is really struggling 5v5 right now

7’2 290lb 1st overall pick Juraj Slafkovsky should be the man for the job but haven’t seen it so far

But the kid can cook for himself, you keep ignoring this vital info only the Habs management gives extra draft points for. Michkov can't cook either, but Bustbacher can so he was the easy choice.

I have been negative a lot more times than I have been positive when posting here but in all fairness, you make me sound like S Bah.:biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

His shot still has a lot of zip.

So you're saying that if the habs' 3rd best forward is a 40 goals scorer the habs have a lot of work to do?
Read the post I was replying too…

If Caufield is a 3rd wheel, like Kessel was to Crosby and Malkin…

The Habs have a lot of work to do SINCE THEY DON’T HAVE CROSBY AND MALKIN

I don’t agree. We saw it so far. CC was able to get 9 shots on net in the calgary game in part because of Slaf’s game. They’re good together.

Eh okay, if you want to paint me as some senseless hater, go at it.
You can only paint yourself that way my friend.

Slaf has delivered the puck tape to tape to Cc several times over the past few games. It’s a fact. If you come in here denying it… you paint yourself as the hater. Cc has been set up numerous times.

And this is the thing - it’s not like he isn’t getting chances. They are there. Apply last year’s shooting percentage and he’s over 50. Apply his average and he’s over 40… There’s no way he finishes the year with a shooting percentage of seven.

The thing is you're also leaving out that his xgf is significantly down from the previous years, it's at 10 right now vs 25 last year at 5on5

and 10 vs 15 on the PP

he's taking a lot of shots but they're not as good as they used to.

You know you could either change my opinion or actually unmask me as this terrible hater if you could provide video evidence of Slafs tape to tape passes to cole. Id be curious to see.

Sorry, I don’t spoon feed. You watched the same games I did. I’m not chasing my tail on this.

xGF is calculated by where the player is on the ice, a lower score means Caufield is taking his shots from less dangerous areas which usually means farther from the net.

yes? that's what i'm saying?

i'm trying to say it's normal that his shooting percentage is down, because the quality of those shots is also down
He might be forcing it a bit.

Shot attempts up, shooting percentage down.
~ 5% more attempts miss the target than last season. Too early to be very concerned.

If MSL was concerned, he’d put him back with Suzuki.

I’m definitely not saying YOU should but I have missed most of the games and if there’s any video of Slaf in the last few games I’d love to see it. I tried a little but came up with zip.

Anyone?

Fair to say he has a bit more to give, but he’s been extremely unlucky with his shooting this year.

All this today, he still has 15 points in 17 games and he’s capable of more. Not exactly terrible.
Yeah hovering around a ppg while being snakebit is a great problem to have. And he can still be better in top of that I’m sure
